Re: $800 to spend

LOLZ auto turbo...

dude dont turbo it, youd be lol'ed at and it wouldnt be much fun and by the sounds of it, abit to much to take on. Just get some headers and save up a little for the rest of the exhaust.

or just get a $100 chrome muffler au - makes it louder and you'l think it goes faster.
save your $$ and get something already modded.

Re: $800 to spend

it's not auto from what I just read.

Spend $800 on a B18C and drop it in there, prob the best increase in performance you could get for $800

can get turbo chip and dyno tune for around $550+ but thats only part of it.

Don't go turbo if you got $800.

get a B18C and then chip+tune that, or run the B16A ECU with a fuel pressure reg.
Thats what the speed factor boys ran a da6 with to 13.3 on the 1/4 mile.
Stock B18C with fuel pressure reg, light weight tho

Re: $800 to spend

b20b block should be less then 600 Sold a few of them for about 400 for the whole engine. But b20z sell for abit more.

Re: $800 to spend

How much work can you do yourself though?

You may get a B20B block for 400, but then you also have to factor in tuning and engine management. Will want to upgrade your clutch too.

Re: $800 to spend

dunno what your teg is da, db, dc?

but if its a DA or something, why not sell it and use the extra $ to buy a newer (sp) one?

ie if its a DA sell for 2-2.5k and grab a dc1 or 2 with a b18c in it, they easy enough now to pickup already around $2800-3.5k

Re: $800 to spend

b20b block with b16a head makes it vtec. But you will want to get some aftermarket pistions or some b20z pistions which will put you over the 800 buget then youll need to use a fuel pressure regulator. or a proper tune.

If your good with DIY you could get a b20b vtec for about $1000 if you can find the parts cheap and only do a basic tune with fuel pressure reg.

Other wise around 2k for a reliable build.

Re: $800 to spend

If you are still wanting to do extractors and exhaust find some nice 2nd hand extractors (i got a set of j's racing 4-2-1 for 300bucks) and i recently got lightening motorsport to do a 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust for very cheap. Give nva2nd a pm and hell sort you out if you are still wanting to do this. My car went a lot better

you dont want to go cheap on a turbo setup.. been down that track

imo extactors and exhaust would be the biggest gain or drop a b18c in there

Re: $800 to spend

Hi-jacking the post,

Whats a set of J's Racing 4-2-1 1 pc headers going to do on a b16a with a 2.5" catback? Can't decide between the Hytech style or J's. Or a trip to Aussie...
