Theres another way to remove the speed cut, Cant remember how its exactly done. Pritty much you just hack the speed sensor to read that its doing 100ks none stop so that it vtec still works + it never speed cuts. Just if you have a eletronic dash you will always read that speed lol. do convert to obd1 you will need convertion harness Obd2a To Obd1 Wiring Harness Adapters 4 Sale and a obd1 ecu (which you will be able to get chipped with Crome. Might be forgetting something.

Im looking up the data logging function and its pritty simple, You just have to have a TTL converter then solder the wires on to the ecu datalog port and cut jp11. pgmfi seems to be having trouble with there server its up for 5mins then it goes down for another hour. Im trying to find some where to source the TTL converter with out having to buy overseas so if any one know post away.

Needs to be a old reltek one that has a port for a chip. I just happen to have a whole box of them so ill try it out tomorrow if i get time to go and buy some chips from jcar. Just need to do a bit more research.

They are still capable of reading Honda chips tho but whats the point in that lol. Guess im still going to have to buy a burn1. But for people with old RTL8029 you can use them with RTFLASH to write honda chips. And or if you have a really old mobo with a 28 or 32pin bios you can use UNIFLASH.

Datalogger is a TTL to USB converter, loudsoundz made one using a dicksmith serial to USB converter. However it was the older style converter they sold with a slower chipset (made the cell box miss cells when accelerating) you want at least a 150-200ms sample time otherwise you are just going to miss out on data when tuning (especially with a fast car that will accelerate faster than you can log) | |

Location: New Plymouth | Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping??? Got it all installed and running today, Almost any one would be able to do it them self. Only had to buy a 30W soldering iron ($9.99) solder 200g reel ($5) Then used fingernail clippers to cut the legs off the old chip. Then used solder iron on the bottom of the board to heat up while i keep the fingernail clippers on on of the chopped legs and pulled it through. When I had done that for all the legs I used the fuse puller out of my car to pull the chip off. I should of read up more on this because the chip had glue or something under it which pulled a bit of paint off the board where the numbers are. Then I just got a really really small drill bit and drilled out some holes in the solder for the legs of of the socket. Put the socket in trimmed down the legs and soldered them in place. Then went over it with a magnifying glass to check all the soldering work. Then slotted in the chip to the socket and done. Adding the data logging port was ever easier and you can do logging with stock chip but only really basic stuff(not useful for tuneing) Just rip off a analog audio port off a old scrap mobo or back of cd drive. Then pull the pins out of the it, You will only need 3 of the pins. Now on the back of the ecu find where the data logging port is and heat up the solder and slide a pin though the hole. Do this for pin 1(ground) 2(TX) 4(RX). Dont need pin 3(positive) and pin5 is blank. then side the plastic thing you took of the mobo or cd drive over the pins should go on really easy. Now take the soldering iron and put the tip down between pin 2 and 4 and it will melt it slightly to it doesn't slide off the pins. Then you just need to use the cable for that analog audio and wire it up to a DKU-5 nokia usb cable (still waiting for mine from trademe cost $5).
