?????

Its not Cui's datalogging code (thats crome OBD1 code)??
Its a BRE chip

you should be using BRE to datalog.
yes datalogging is on that latest version of BRE and the roms that come with it, so the BRE creator says in the help file/

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

I tried all the data logging program's and every braudrate. and cant get any response from your or ef_eg's chips, stock one and really old one I get some data from so its not the connections.

Iv been reading over this.

Quote:
From 2.2beta on, the data logger part of BRE is associated with a ROM. So, in order to open the data logger you must make sure you have a ROM open, and that the ROM has the ability to data log with BRE (All ROMs in the BRE zip file have this ability). The data logger is accessed through the Tools->Data logger...menu. This brings up the Data logger form. Next you must connect to the ECU.
What I take from that is that all the roms with bre can be used to open the datalogging part of the programe but they will not report any data unless the datalogging code has been added.

You know more about this ef_eg, is that true?

Last thing I can try is another computer but ill have to wait till a dry day so i can run the long usb cord to my computer.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

That's right, you need to enable the datalogging code. The chip I made didn't have this added.

If you have your burner now, just open the bin of the chip I sent you with BRE then add the datalogging like it says in that note and save the bin. Burn your chip then it should work. If you haven't got your burner yet then maybe I can send you another chip and you can send that one back (swap).

Should work then otherwise try all bad rates, check connections, serial drivers etc.

To add datalogging go to menu scripts>add datalogging.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

Send the chip back to me and i'll enable datalogging for you and post it back. (only costs like $1 to send so doesn't matter)

This is badly written then:

Quote:
and that the ROM has the ability to data log with BRE (All ROMs in the BRE zip file have this ability).
it says the rom must have the ability to datalog, it then says all roms that come with BRE HAVE THIS ABILITY.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

Already had a talk with ef_eg and he will do one for me.

Going to have to pm Ben to get him to change the help file, its very misleading.

Iv gotten started on my own data logging program all the open source ones on pgmfi where very bloated.

Mint, I don't know how to code so can't do cool stuff like that.

P.S how come though, is the BRE one not good enough?

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

Bre doesnt have the stuff I want lol. I want to be able to have a full screen gauge dash thats like what cars normally have. + rolling road dyno stuff.

BRE has dash gauges, I am guessing you want to make better ones.
Be cool to see what you make. Good luck!

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

yea, I want full screen gauges so I can evently replace my cluster with a laptop.

Bre doesnt have a fuel guage, I found the address for it on obd0 ecus on pgmfi but i dont know how well it works, Might have to make a controller that sends a signal to another usb port on the laptop.

The potentional is limit less, Would be nice having it say how many L are left aswell as how many projected Ks I can do at my current TPS placement and stuff like that.

Would be awesome having a lcd where the cluster is, could use it for the guages (thats what im trying to do now), play music and videos.

But the ultimate would be to have it touch screen aswell.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

I had no idea the fuel sender went to a ECU pin???
never heard of this on OBD1?

I know it goes straight to the cluster tho, and the needle moves slowly on the cluster so when the fuel sender floats up and down in the tank the needle on the gauge doesn't go haywire

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

Its meant to be "01 03 D1" on obd1 ecus, Also obd1 has a battery sensor or something which is "01 03 D2" or 1F

I guess the fuel sensor gets it data like the cable VSS and uses the cluster.

LOL these is almost more ecu discussion going on in this thread then in pgmfi of late.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

hehe, nah pgmfi is a little active, click on 'new posts' to see where people are posting.

yes I read battery volts through my datalogging, but I am sure the ecu doesn't capture or actually log the fuel level??

If it does, no one has ever used it in a datalogging program.

also for the life of me I can't see why the ECU would want to log fuel levels. (in other cars sometimes fuel temp is logged, or fuel levels to work out economy etc)
ECU needs to see battery volts because it will use many offset tables for battery volts vs injecor dead/pulse width etc.

interesting...

Iv been thinking about it and it might acturaly be to do with the fuel pump, Doesnt that have a CEL code?

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

Im going to be using this as the gauge, The 3 extra circles are for CEL,Vtec and Shift lights.

Its just a quick photo shop job so theres still lots of room for improvement.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

CooL!!

might be an idea to make the temp gauge read higher, you will find it could get over 110C on the track if u got stock radiator. I remember seeing F1erce Ek9 at 120C !!!

it should stay under 100C tho

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

whoa, my cars never seen over 100C guess im not pushing it hard enough + running pure water.

Ill just move all the number back one so then I can label up to 130.

photoshops betting shitty so I guess its a time for a break lol, Stupid not enough memory error when theres heaps left.

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

yeh well it shouldn't go over 100C at all really.

plenty of cars i've tuned can sit around 95+ in city driving or comming to a stop.

I have no idea what mine gets to at the track as I haven't logged it at the track, I want to next time tho, little bit worried of taking the laptop in the car for a few laps

Strap it on to the spare seat in bubble wrap lol. Or just buy a EEEPC they are ment to be quite shock resistant and it will fit in the glove box lol.

yeh I might put it in its laptop case with the datalogging cable going into it.
then strap that down. Will be sweet then

Re: Any one do BRE or equivalent obd0 PR3 chipping???

got the chip ef_eg sent today, bre must using driffent datalogging routes because the only programe that will datalog is the built in one to bre.

Im going to have to go exploring thought the datalogging plugin for bre to find the routes.

Noticed something strange with bre, it logs TPS in %s and my idle % is 0.47% and its running up in col 3/4 of the fuel maps.

Any idea what it should be stock, ill have to dial back the tps if its incorrect.
