Location: Dunedin | Throttle body questions 70mm TB questions Im replacing my throtle body but after reading the thread above am not to sure. Heres the setup im running. b18cr 96 spec whale penis intake 72mm where it connects to tb 4-1 ceramic coated headers and 2 1/2" with 2 bullets link ecu Blox intake manifold 64mm inlet (not yet instaleed) is a factory type r one better? Ive paid for a blox 70mm tb so this is what im intending to put on. What should and shouldnt i use? The car is going to be strictly a track car and driven constantly in vtec and will be tuned once ive finished all the mods unfortunately as im dropping it off in chch to be tuned and heading to raro for a week then picking it up and heading home so wont be able to change over throttle bodies and manifolds to disprove and prove any theories in the disscusion from the above thread but what is your guys oppinions about what i should do? Also should i hone out the intake manifold opening to 70mm to match the tb? So basicly what combination should i use? If i had unlimited resources i could just pay a man to figure out the best setup on a dyno but i dont So a little help? |

I just did and it was a pretty interesting read and from what I took from it on your setup you wont need it but it's unlikely to cause you grief. If you are thinking you want to race the piss out of it and leave it at WOT all day go for the 70mm. Its a big TB obviously and you will only get the maximum benefits out of it if you mod the motor more. Do port match it to the manifold. Bump that thread and see if they ever followed it up... |

Skunk2 initially made it only for B18C as ITR obviously wouldn't need bit - but ended up making them for B16A as well. Then they developed the Pro Series manifold which flows better again....
