Re: Will these H22A headers bolt onto F20B?

They will fit the head, but the mounting brackets for the back of the block etc won't. Which doesn't matter as you don't need them. Depending on the design you may also need to notch a couple of bits on the block...

thanks CoupeTurbo! never ever have read anything like headers can throw out the timing of the vtec. Might just leave it stock then.

huh?

Care to explain how? I didn't realise the lobe change point was dynamic in the F series.

lol coupeturbo:1 demon: -3 now

elijha.. ur best bet is that they will fit, they might gain a lilttle over stock cast manifold

if they dont fit a lil modding maybe required.. as with most cheapo trademe parts

They will be fine for a small gain in HP, but nothing special over say these ones JUN H22A Exhaust Manifold for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand hence the $1295 price tag, those one's your looking at are a cheap alternative over seriously tuned & designed headers.

So if your not really that serious about modifying your car then those headers your looking at would be fine really for an f20b engine, I'd say you could bolt them on youself with the right tool's no worrie's, just take note of what a few people have said already about the block etc, eze peze tho.

I want the JUN 1's they are proven to be the 1 of the best if not the best header you can get for an h22, ( Super Lemon Prelude ) to bad they are'nt under a grand tho

Re: Will these H22A headers bolt onto F20B?

Megan Racing apparently aren't that bad, I am not sure about their headers though - but some of their other stuff isn't rated too badly.... however those headers still have a 2" collector which is pretty shithouse.

Re: Will these H22A headers bolt onto F20B?

2" is shit, okay. So i've already got a twin loop muffler sticking out my ass, if i get a new exhaust i should match this to the collector diameter of the header right? 2.5" maybe?

Yeah definatly although i think maybe 2.25'' could be better with the f20b, more mid range power over top end with 2.5'' and of course im sure you know you wont be maximizing the HP without your Intake done already right? the old more air in more air out scenario.

Also make sure you dissconnect the battery for 10 - 20 min's aswell after the install is done then go thrash it with some 98 octane for awhile or so and Wahhlaaa more Vtec'n power and Torque.

Changing your plug's too will help, if you havent done em in a while because all of a sudden there's more air n fuel to burn so a better spark should give you the best result's.

Re: Will these H22A headers bolt onto F20B?

Thanks MyH22A, yeah i've ripped out the factory air box and in there sits a new pipe and air filter now. because i've already got the twin loop, it is easy to get just the 2.25 exhaust without muffler? any suggestions on where i can find a 2.25 exhaust to buy? and how much am i looking at without a muffler?

Will replace spark plugs this Sat too.

What he said, otherwise there maybe someone on NZH in Auck's that might beable to point you in the right direction.

I'd Estimate round 350 - 500 without muffler for stainless steel and 200 - 300 for just mild steel (make sure its coated or dipped as they say with anti rust stuff).
