Re: integra NA build

Sean & I just started engine for first time! open headers n all. Everything went sweet, ran abit rough though becoz dizzy timing is out and no oxy sensory.

better pic of car, was rolled outside to start

Ive got a small video of it starting, its too big to upload on image shack, anyone know how i make it smaller or got another way of uploading it..?

either dizzy timing or the fact that the map is a total guess Might get better once warm. Did it have a low/high idle or hunting idle?

Re: integra NA build

So what did you mean by "ran a little rough"

rough how? (P.S if you got no oxy sensor you will get a CEL because I left oxy enabled on that base map i made you for starting the car)

Re: integra NA build

righto well today was D-day, we loaded the car on the trailer last night and got up at 5.30am today and headed for tauranga to Sam's (coupe-r) to do the base tune.

so we get to Sams and we had mega problems cam belt was 1 tooth out, intake camgear didnt have a key in it so it looks like it sliped on the camshaft, and also the tappets on #1 cylinder were fu*kn loose and the locking nuts hadnt been done up and 1 was holding on by 1 measley fu*ckn thread, great job done by drury engine reconditioners so we will be taking the car to them on monday and demanding the fix there fu*k up at no cost and also rembursing us for the trailer hire and petol for the trip down and back. what a complete was of time.
/rant

but on a good note, it was good to meet you Sam and thanks for your help today and being a good dude about the wasting of time. also i knew i shouldnt have taking my wallet as we called into speedfactor and ended up walking out with a twin core aluminium radiator

Re: integra NA build

there was no way of knowing there was anything wrong, the guys that built it were sposed to know their shit, and they said the engine was mint and ready to run, We didnt have any reason to believe their was anything wrong.
- the engine ran abit rough
but we believed it was just the tune.
not much we could of done.

Re: integra NA build

Yeh was a bugger!!
In the rain with the valve cover off finding all sorts of nasty probs.
(tuner isn't supposed to get his hands very dirty)

Nah not your guys fault, the engine builders need to sort there shit out. Bunch of monkeys couldn't assemble a jigsaw puzzle, they would just smash the pieces together and "Make" them fit.

Re: integra NA build

Yep next sat its on, come same time so we can start early. Either 9am-10am or even 11am is not too late.

Shouldn't take too long for a road tune, both cams.

It was the valve adjustment I believe for those reading.
(or was it cam timing also?)

Re: integra NA build

The exhaust - f***** mint, it sounds damn nice, not in the slightest bit big borey/farty like so many hondas, its just deep and mean sounding and its very very quiet...and its straight through, 1 reso, no cat or silencer!

....and my stereo + speaker troubles have suddenly gone now that the cars running right, what a bonus! everythings falling into place, fucking finally!
