Location: Auckland | Re: integra NA build today was a success, Sam tuned the car with no probs, it runs very well, im very pleased. but have another prob possibly... got car home safely but i went to start it 30min after getting home and stopping it, and oil light wouldnt go away, so i killed it after about 5seconds, then tried starting 2 more times, gave it a couple of revs but still wouldnt go away after 10 seconds so i just killed it. The oil light coming on last week was not low oil pressure, just the car idling to low and pretty much dying when clutch went in. This is nothing to do with that of course though. I understand that the engine should be pretty noisey if there is low oil pressure but there are no strange noises coming from engine that i can hear I dont understand how the oil light can only just come on now when the car drove fine all of today for tuning and fine the way home from Tauranga to Auck. and car has plenty of oil. any suggestions? |

Location: Auckland | Re: integra NA build ill keep the ball rolling... A guy at Honda Pukekohe looked at the motor today. It seems the tiny wee ball bearings from rods being shotpeened have gone into the oil pump and fucked it, which is just fantastic. As ive been saying Drury engine reconditioners who built the engine a real cunty bunch (dont ever send your engine there) dont want to really accept responsibility, but one of the guys has agreed to go over to Honda tomorrow to look at it with the Honda mecanic and see what he wants to do. |

P.S how the hell I didn't blow it when tuning and hitting 9000rpm. Oil light wasn't on though Phew!! so now it actually isn't getting oil pressure, |

But if tomorrow the engine reconditioner refuses to accept blame, im getting Honda to rebuild the motor and get it back on road in a few days, and ill be going to small claims to get my money back from the engine reconditioners. |

Location: Auckland | Re: integra NA build k so further investigation was done. It seems that "glass beads" from the work done to the cylinder head have blocked up galleries and the pump. The port and polish job on the head was not done properly as glass used to clean it were not cleared out so thats the problem. The engine reconditioners are not to blame though as they didnt do this work to the head and cant be responsible for that shit being in it. The head work was done by an asian guy named Charlie, he had a business called KTF racing and he lived in howick/botany. But he left the country for Taiwan a few months ago. I have his email, but im guessing he will just do the dirty and ignore me as hes across the otherside of the world so i dont think theres much i can do. ive emailed him anyway. So there we have it. Me = screwed. If there is anybody that knows this Charlie guy pretty well, let me know. Also, the engine needs to be stripped down and rebuilt and bearings replaced etc, so if theres anybody on here, around Auckland looking for a buck, and can do this in there spare time, pretty quickly though, let me know. |
