Location: Tauranga | Fuel Pressure Reg essential for VAFC2 tuning? When tuning a vafc2 will more power be obtained from usuing a FPR and then taking fuel out I heard its hard to add fuel with a VAFC2 Anyone have any good power increase experiences using a VAFC2 without using a FPR? P.S this is on a Type R (which runs a higher pressure than b16a2 etc) runs about 50psi WOT compared to 42PSI |

| Team NZH: Mod 9,000rpm (S2000 Redline!) | what mods do you have?? i am still running completley standard fuel system in my car with plenty of margin to add more fuel and not need any upgrades.... I would think the VAFC will do nicely for what you need it.

| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | if you add fuel, your retarding your timing, so it could be of use in this case by way of upping the pressure and not needing to use the vafc as much to compensate. subtracting fuel advances timing so only time youll need it is if you wanna drop the pressure abit to keep the timing similar to what it was without subtracting a whole lot on the vafc. it could be of use depending on your setup, but the vafc itself will be fine alone if its a near stock setup.

Location: Tauranga | 98 headers 2.5 mandrel exhaust with tanabe muffler, intake thats about it so stock really just wanted to know before i dyno if better numbers/curve could be obtained from a FPR and VAFC2 VAFC2 i have read is good at subtracting fuel but not adding it because of limitations of stock FPR etc. however i feel a near stock setup won't need much fuel adding and most tuning Im guessing will take fuel away on my setup. correct |

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | Sorry to hijack the thread but I have some h22a injectors (not installed) and have been offered a fpr for a cheap price but i have done some research to find that the standard b16a injectors are better than the h22a ones and from this thread it seems that a fpr doesnt make much difference. Is this true?If so I will sell the h22a injectors and get something that is more worth while. |
