d15b where to next

I Have a 1992 EG4 Civic VTI with a D15B SOHC VTEC (JDM)in it making 130hp from the factory. Currently it has a K & N pod filter and a short ram intake. The filter is in a Cold air box with piping under the bumper. It has a 2 1/4in exhaust from the extractors back and im getting some extractors made for it. i have also lowered it on 17" advanti aztec X shadow chromes and lowered on Cobra springs.

what i was wondering is where i should go from here keeping in mind that i want to keep the D15B in the car. im thinking of getting a gizmo chip but should i get my cam reground or just get a new cam for it then get the chip. I have a couple of grand to play with but i dont wanna go FI.

I would really like to get into the high 15's low 16's with it. at the moment with just short ram intake and filter on 17's it mananged a 16.9.

any help or comments would be apreciated

Get the Head Shaved and a mild port'n'polish with matched manifolds
Maybe shave the block aswell

Then take out your A/C and Power Steering

Just a Suggestion

strip the car of sound deadening and get some better suspension. use 15"s instead of 17"s. get a V-AFC or gizzmo chip and tuned. won't leave you much change from 2 grand though.

Honestly - with the money you will spend to make it go faster - just get a B16A...They are going cheap enough these days, your intake will still be ok for it.

So you want to spend $2000 on a your d15b engine which will still be slow, when you could do a B16A swap and actually have a motor which has a fair bit of power, and alot of potential.

I was in the same situation as you about 2 years ago, I wanted to build somthing a bit different, and keep my d15b N/A, but at the end of the day I wanted a car thats actually fun to drive, so went F1.

I can see where your coming from with wanting to be a bit different, but like the others say, the $2000 you spend will barly give you any noticable increase in power, especially after you've bought headers, you wont be able to afford much more.

Like I said, you want a car that you enjoy driving. If your happy with the power it puts out now, then do the mods the others were saying, If you havnt been in a B16A civic before, take one for a test drive, then make your desicion.

ive been in a b18c integra and a b18c civic and it didnt feel that much faster than mine i was actually expecting more from the integra but thats another story. im happy with the car and engine i was just looking for ideas but it looks like noone wants to be different around here u all seem to wanna go the same way B16a or B18C or FI. my choice is to go with the D15B.

What i wana know is are any of the parts of the D16A different to the D15B and if so would they give me more power or do i have to go aftermarket?
