theres a place in frankton; "tuning and performance"? i think; they have a dyno;

but i think it may be worth while going to AKL, to torque performance; ive seen them do 4 VFAC dynos now; and all with a very impressive increase of power; 200-270 price range;

do a search; as VAFC dyno tuning was talked about not so long ago; has different peoples views and opinions on places to go in AKL etc;

yeah, i would think the more bolt ons the more power gain too.

but it just really depends on how my the fuel settings need to be changed.
at the time of my 17kw gain, i only had I,H,E.

Any reason for this? Because quite frankly they are the best you are going to get in the Wellington region IMHO. My next option after Speedtech would be doing it myself if it was my car.

Other than Speedtech your next best options would be Turbo Vehicles or Gizzmo! in Auckland - might be the expensive way but if you are wise you would want it done properly or not at all.

Yeah i got my reasons. But then again if i go and listen to everyone and judge by that you can never win. Spose ill go for the personal approach then if aucklands the next best option.
Speedtech it is.. i spose they know what theyre doing.. apart from the fact i havnt heard of a honda being done thru them, its Mitsi this or mitsi that
Might pop in then.

Its obviously up to you, its your car. I don't know what people have told you about them, but I like to think I know a thing or two - enough to identify if someone knows their shit and does it well. Hondas Speedtech have had their hands on I am aware of:

My old Prelude
PSSHH (230+kw @ wheels turbo B16A EK Civic)
A DC2 TypeR Teg that they got 137kw @ wheels with basic boltons + tuning, often at Riverbank
The Zex NA TypeR Civic just before it got its personal best down south (aka. ALLMTR)
FR8TRN from on here, a Turbo B20A Prelude
And I believe they are/have been working on a Turbo EF CRX.

Strictly speaking IT CAN BE, but really with a VTEC its not recommendable.

With a turbo, you typically run normalish NA type advance until it starts coming on boost - then the timing needs to be retarded to avoid detonation, NA VTECs will obviously run fairly advanced timing. To avoid this, you can retard the overall timing - which will result in generally weak off boost behaviour.

Apexi AFC-type tools also aren't very good once you get to replacing fuel pumps or injectors, as they are set up to provide a certain amount of variation on the stock ECUs tune - but dramatic changes in the amount of fuel it needs will really throw it.
