if your having overheating problems and you notice your guage is heading towards hot, flick your heater on and put it to full hot and turn up the speed to full. that will get hot coolant flowing thru the heater core and take some of the pressure off the thermostat.
only problem is you have to drive with a window open lol and if its raining or you drive to work at 4am like me, you get cold and wet

heater = over-heating aswell i may need to change the coolant. its either that or the thermostat.

Re: WSC/PNorf/Lower NI Cruise to NIMM '08

do a full coolant system flush as well as new coolant and a thermostat
no oil in the water and vice versa? not using water?
run the car with the radiator cap off and checked for bubbles etc?

Wellington Members Going to NIMM

Hey guys,

Assuming there will be a few peeps heading up to Taupo for NIMM from Wellington. And seeing as i just had 4 months off work, thought it a little cheeky to ask for thursday off too.
So i was going to leave Welly on thursday night after work, aim to be on the road by 6-6.30pm, gassed up and ready to go.

Anyone else planning on doing the same thing from the general area? Keen for some company if so.

Central meeting points? Like paramata rail station etc? (for the hutt folk etc)

If not, no big deal. Ill just Mow up on my own and see who i come across for a little State Highway playtime

Discuss.
