| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | Re: Which head unit do you prefer? Is this realistic, or theoretical? ![]() I have an Alpine. Was second only to the Alpine F1 Status and Phantom Face models in its time. Three-way crossover network with time alignment and all the drama. Good unit, but the user interface is not logical and takes time to learn. Generally speaking, I've found Pioneer to be the easiest to use for me. If money was no object, it would be the Clarion HX-D2, or the Pioneer P9 transport and external processor combo for 4-way crossover network action. Or maybe a car PC... But yeah, depends what you want. Most are easy enough to use these days. Some come with better external media support.... is there any reason in particular you are asking?

I voted panasonic for the ease of use and I like it that they stick rca inputs on the rear of the units which alot of others dont. also pioneer is great for ease and also they are very adjustable in terms of low/mid/high can be adjusted individually as opposed to just having bass and treble control.

Just make sure whatever you get has a good user interface and you don't have to scroll through every song to find the one you want. |

Not a whole heap of fancy features but was extremely well built, oozed quality with things like a full copper chassis. It had a great internal amp too, which is why it must've weighed 50% more than your average head unit I've changed to a Pioneer 6050 now for its ipod controlling capability, its not a bad unit

I'd vote fusion, not because I know anything about head units or sounds all together (don't ever let me wire your sounds ) but I have one and its pretty and controls my ipod ^_^ It happened to be on special when I looked for sounds
