Location: Howick | Thoughts on a H22a into DA7 Heya guys.. Have thought about this for quite a while now.. So I'd just like some thoughts on my idea ![]() I have chosen to go for the H22a, as putting in a B16a is not worth the time - Could buy an XSi instead. Yes I have done ABIT of research... List to do. Get mounts imported. H22a > DA Convert from carby to FI - Using XSi Petrol tank and pump etc. Make some sort of a Cable to Hydro' conversion bracket Convert to OBD1 using Prelude ECU, seeing im using a '93 Prelude H22a And as for axles, I'll be attempting to use a standard DA6 axle with prelude/accord inner's? And any other comments/suggestions please! ![]() No i'm not going to K20 it. Cheers! =) |

And think about how to the shifter mechanism will be transplanted, if its different. Apart from that you've got a good list. will you use a conversion harness for the ecu then? |

Ummm I really think I should use a conversion harness? Or I could convert using wires 1 by 1..? Hmm.. what to do with the power steering? ![]()

The H22a would give good power and torque but is also heavier than a B series motor. I would look for a efi crx , civic or teg and drop your motor in with a hasport mount kit.

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | Re: Thoughts on a H22a into DA7 h22a is heavier but not by much was reading a thing in the usa where a guy weighed it all and h22a was any about 11-15kgs heavier. The torque from an h22a is awesome. Dont think your standard axles would work. Have a look at what the americans use. Research, reseatch research. Till you have everything covered from wiring diagrams to knowing exactly where to cut. Installing the shifter is not as hard as people make out. Infact I found it piss easy in an eg. Ditch the power steering as you dont really need it and get a manual rack out of an ef. Good Luck, Keep us updated. Haden |

Still have drum rear brakes, no swaybars, etc. If you do choose to go H22A, then keep in mind you won't be needing to do a OBD swap as the carbies don't use a normal FI loom, or any ECU of sorts.

IMO, as others have said anything to do with that chassis is weaksauce no swaybars, weak brakes If u were to h2b it, the rocker cover/intake would stil 2 inches out of the hole that ud have to make in your bonnet, yes a cable linkage would work (i think) youd need a WHOLE B series drivetrain from a da6/8, another PITA to find especialy since youd have to get a rebuilt one, and with a decent lsd, otherwise ul have notchy syncros and a floppy gearstick and a single spinning wonder going nowhere also ud have to loose PS/ and relocate the alternator, shave back of block etc if u were to use the h22a box as well, ud need a mount kit( they even make them??) cut holes for shifter etc etc, maybe even make clearance for the intake manifold (just like EF swaps) and then it wont handle as good as a B series of h2b swap... i coulkd go on and on about why its a bad idea to put an h22a into a da7...but smoko time is over...
