'96 JDM ITR new wheels offset question

Hi guys, my first post and I'm asking what could be a very simple question!
I've searched the net and forum but am still unsure about this:

I'm looking at getting some sec/hand Rays Volk TE37 15x7, 4x114.3, but they are different offsets. 2 wheels are 35 and two are 43.

Why would this be? is this desirable? I would have thought normally you'd run the same offset all around? Is the idea to give the car a bit more front end grip or something by widdening the front track?

My car is curently sitting on factory 15" wheels, lowered on Neuspeed race springs with prelude front brakes, which means I have to use a spacer on the front.
My tyres are 205/50/15 (i think!) Toyo R888's.

I guess the real quetions are:
Any idea if these wheels would fit? and is it desirable to have 2 different offsets or not?

The car is only really used as a track toy these days.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, sorry if this is a really noob question!

Re: '96 JDM ITR new wheels offset question

Hey Welcome to NZ Hondas.

I run 17x7's on my dc2 and they have a 40 offset. I run a 5mm spacer on the back so the rears are effectively 35 offset and the fronts are effectively 37 due to using 3mm washers between the hub and the rotor on my prelude brake conversion.
The wheels seem to sit nicely in the guard with the width and offset.

My standard dc2 wheels fitted over my prelude brakes without a spacer and theyre 15x6 with a 45 offset. Depends on the design of the spokes to whether which 15's will fit over prelude brakes.

its not desirable as such however I cant see it causing any issues.

normally cars with two offsets are RWD with staggerd width wheels hence a higher offset on the rear......
