98 spec with 15" wheels

hi all,

im wondering if its possible to fit 15" into my 98spec itr.

i reason im asking this is because ive got 98spec 16" oem wheels at the moment and its a bitch to find tyres for them. 215/45r16 ARGGGGG !

and because its a cheaper option to run 15 or 17.

if i was to run 15 what would be some down and up side to things ?

thanks

Re: 98 spec with 15" wheels

If you use 15" you will end up more in higher revs than your 16" wheels

yea there is only really three tyre options in that size unfortunatly......

Well that im aware of, 15's in five stud maybe a little tricky...and will they clear the brakes also could be an issue.

can look after you on the correct size tyres if you wish

Re: 98 spec with 15" wheels

as for change in revs at certain speed then that will depend on tyre size not the rim/mag size

The only issue would be fitting them over the brakes, easiest way to find out for sure is try some..a mate's wheels, whoevers just see if they clear then you'll know for sure before you go and buy some.

Re: 98 spec with 15" wheels

Do they even make 98 to 96 spec hub conversion kits?
Lol, why don't you just stick with the 16s? They look better, more air flow to the brakes I'd say and with 3 tyre options, you're pretty set... Plus no hassles

5 stud to four stud adaptors/spacers and vise-versa are totally illegal, not even with a cert.

Re: 98 spec with 15" wheels

^^ Dunno I've just gone through a whole lot of shit with spacers for my last wof and apparently 4 to 5 stud adaptations are illegal, probably because of the un-even spacing between studs, maybe making the adapter un-evenly strong.

Re: 98 spec with 15" wheels

Cheapest and easiest thing to do is to go to a more common size i.e 205/50r16 which is factory sizing on alot of cars, mainly subaru and is only a 1.9 % overall difference which is well within the legal limit and are much much cheaper to buy. thats only if you need four tyres though.
