whiteline sway bar question

hi,

i just get my second hand rear sway bar for dc2 from brent....
and i have a look of the installation instruction from whiteline...i found that the mounting point have little bit different...

this is the second hand one...

this is the pic from whiteline...

my question is:
1) is it safe to run it on a non type r dc2 with type r suspension???? i have search the forum and some ppl ssay that the harder the spring is, the more safe the surframe...

2) also, the end of sway bar have 2 hole (adjustable)...which hole should i use to make less stress on the subframe?? my thinking is the inner hole as shorter the length, less torque on the bar and less movement??is that right??

3) do i require to reinforce the subframe to install the bar???

thx

Re: whiteline sway bar question

i ran this swaybar on my civic for ages with no problems, use the hole closest to the front of the car for less stress on subframe, i dont think you will have any problems with it.

Re: whiteline sway bar question

install it the say it is on the car, if the bush ends up being on the bend of the bar then ull have to install it round the other way, if its still on the flat bit of the bar mount the points out as far as u can

Re: whiteline sway bar question

as i know...eg use the same one with dc...so, it didnt fit ef...

but here is some modification u can do...
Honda-Tech.com: Honda CRX / EF Civic: How I put a DA rear sway bar on my DX hatch, pics galore

not really sure how is ef one look like, but i think in the web is a crx
"DC is 13mm. DC 4dr is 14mm. DA is 14.7mm. EF is 15mm. DA 4dr sedan is biggest, 15.9mm
on second thought, DC rear bars mount to the rear subframe right? DA/EF swaybar mounting style is better in my analysis." this what i copy from the web..

Re: whiteline sway bar question

yes you can use that swaybay mounting any way, i had to use it that way because it hit my muffler if it was on the outside.
