CL9 Camber correction options

I recently had my CL9 Accord Euro lowered on some Tein S-Tech's and just got a wheel alignment today. Everything was mint apart from the negative camber in the rear which was about -2.3 degrees camber (I don't have the print out handy).

I do know the CL9's are really bad for negative rear camber after being lowered.

My old Orthia had negative camber in the rear but I just left it as I wasn't worried about correcting it or the tyres (cheap).

But seeing as I drive my Euro alot and the tyres I have weren't cheap I want to fix it.

I thought I would open a discussion in regards to the CL9 as not a lot of people on here have one

What options are there for correcting the rear camber on the CL9?
Does anybody with one have a camber kit?

You should see it when there's 3 people in the back haha.

Any rear camber kits you would recommend Jacky?

I know that. But I drive it a lot so would rather be proactive about it.

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

That is actually a fair bit of camber.....in comparison to say a stock run of the mill car.

To the best of my knowledge noone does a "correction kit" that is sold through say autolign or stocks etc......

however im sure that there must be an aftermarket option maybe ex USA or japan......
Have you done much of a web search ??

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

Just thought I would bring this back from the dead with an update. I still haven't got a rear camber kit (lack of funds).

But in the last week I've been trying to source a rear camber kit from places here in NZ and it's been a mission. No one stocks anything, not even for the CL7 which will fit as well.

I've started a WTB thread: http://nzhondas.com/forum/suspension...cord-euro.html seeing if anyone with overseas contacts could possibly get something imported for me.

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

Well after weeks of putting it off and 3 hours of continuously surfing the net tonight trying to find what I want and reading many reviews, I've decided to go with the Ingalls rear camber kit 3880 R or L 1990 - 1997 Honda Accord Rear Camber Adjuster (The price on their website is per side).

After not having any luck with a stockest in NZ I looked at Aussie and a few places stocked Ingalls. One of the better priced places was JDMyard Shop listing theirs for AUD$295 (about NZ$375) and that excludes shipping it here.

I read a few posts on OZHonda about the Ingalls kit and that rate quite highly. Alot of them sourced them locally but a few got them off Ebay US. I did a search of Ebay for the kit and only found 2 listings. One of the business selling one was Import Auto Performance for US$149. I ended up buying it through their website as opposed to Ebay (I don't like ebay). The total including shipping was US$218.71 which is about NZ$287.

So it should be here by about Thursday.

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

Just another update. The camber kit arrived today. I opened one of the boxes up and it looks like I can only use the lower adjuster one as the upper one on my car has a different end. meh hard to explain.

I'm going to install them this Sunday and get a wheel alignment on the Monday. I will take pics when I put them in to show everyone what I mean.

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

If you're alignment guy is onto it he could chuck a bit more toe at it to compensate for the camber... not an ideal solution (only really a temporary one IMO) but i should keep the tyres from wearing too unevenly. hth

Re: CL9 Camber correction options

Just thought I would bring this thread back from the dead with an update.

The rear camber kit was installed yesterday. I ended up taking it around to my bro-in-laws place seeing as he has more tools than me. Only took about an hour to install. I tell you what, it makes a big difference when you have all the right tools.

Sorry I didn't get any photo's of the installation, I left my camera on the other side of town and couldn't be arsed getting it.

I took the car in for a wheel alignment today (thanks Firestone) and it's looking a hell of a lot better.

Here is a scan of the old report vs the new one.

Old Report (before camber kit):

New Report (after camber kit):

Overall I'm happy with it. It will definitely save my tyres from being chewed out in the rear.
