Shocks maxing out??

Fine driving uphill but coming back down with nothing but me in the car taking a hard downhill left turn corner and theres a loud bang...

Need shorter shocks? I think its just on low Springs

shorter shocks won't make them bottom out any less as your car still sit at the same height - sounds like your springs are too soft.....or your shocks are poked.

Mine had cut springs in it. About 2 coils off both ends, actually rode nicely.

If you shorten the shocks (which I wouldn't bother doing on 2nd had shocks anyway), you should in theory get more compression stroke... which should lessen the effect of bottoming out, however it will make them more susceptible to 'topping' out (reaching the limit of their upwards travel).

Thank fusk for that, thought you were gonna be AceJDMsh*** #2.

How low is low? Low springs on stock shocks arn't the best combo. If you have some cash consider replacing your shocks with Konis/bilsteins or just replace the lot with some coilovers

id actually jack the car up and give the wheel a good shake......you may have a rooted inner control arm bush or similar

thanks for the help

lol dont know who that guy is

and errmm yeah probably the best way to go, so far its the best handling car ive owned, my old Ep72 turb wasnt the best

I wasnt too sure about gettin adjustables because I thought stock suspension would have been better than me playing around with what I have no idea on (Clueless on adjustables)

Could it be the top control arm hitting the inside fender bit, due to having soft springs/worn shocks?
