DC2R 98Spec, 45 offset mags, 215/45/16 tyres, lowered...

My drop is about 40mm.

Is anyone running this mag/tyre combo here (215/45/16 with +45 offset, non standard mags)?

Are you experiencing guard rubbing?

Keen to know, as I might put on some +45 mags soon...

TIA

yeah, that was what i was considering. Standard wheels are offset +50, I know they can handle a 215, but if I go to the +45, then, since they're another 5mm out, and look'n at the current situ (ride height/wheel/rim space), seems to me I might be better with those 205's your suggesting.

cheers S.

Anyone else got a thought to share?

Im running a 17x7" +42et with 205/40.
Lowered on neuspeed sports and koni yellows, no camber correction and have about 5mm clearance in the back guards when at maximum upper travel.

*edit* Logger runs 17x7.5 +42 with I *think* 215/40 on neuspeed race, little bit of rubbing in the front I beleive (thats on 96spec)

Umm not sure on total drop, with a car full of people and a boot full of stuff the tyres and a little bit of the rim are tucking under the back guards,
It doesnt rub on the outer guard but on big bumps rubs a we bit on the inner guard (the metal of the strut tower)

user: "Rustynuts" ran these rims on his 01 NZDM ITR with neuspeed races before me with same tyres, when I got them there was no runner missing from excess rubbing

Also edited my first post

i also have konis/neuspeeds on lowest clip with 205/50/15s +35

only get a little rubing on the front at full lock going over bumps

about 5mm gap betwee the tyre and guard in the back about 3.3 camber allround

edit*
40mm drop you will be sweet

the wheels are 7". thinking of getting 215 sized tyres. But, just a bit concerned, given the drop and the +45 offset of the other mags, that I might get guard rubbing, under - high - cornering loads.

215/45/16 is the oe tyre size on the 98 isnt it ??

will sit out approximatly 10mm more than at present

(half an inch wider divided by two and 5mm lower offset)

hmmm, would be unluck really if they did rub

*edit* just did a check and my source says yes to 45 but no to 215....it reccomends 205/46/16

96 ITR but,
I've got a set of 16x7 with +45 offset and 215/45/16 and they don't rub. 215/40/17 on 17x7.5 with +42 offset just rub at full lock on the front inside inner guard. Height of my car is the very top of the tyre is at the same height as the top of the guard arch.

Same here but I run a 205/40/17, about the same height as Blizard though. I do get a bit of rubbing on full lock turning into driveways etc.
