LOL, that pic of my DC2 was taken when I lowered the car as far as I could keeping the springs captive just to see how low it would be, definately not normally driven that low... Damn thing scraped everywhere!

Infact running my 17s with full slicks the car is now raised up quite a bit just to stop the tyres rubbing on the seam at the top of the inner gaurds in the front, anyone know a way around this, as in removing it or flattening it out? probably a bad idea tho

Has been seriously hard to get my EF9 to handle well when really low. Not just that but camber killed my tyres and that was not even tucked. Da6 was 1000 times easier to sack and no camber probs

Yep correct offset is a BIG HELP, and camber can cause wheels to hit outer gaurds if corrected alot. Also can cause upper A arms to hit the upper chassis if camber corrected heaps and really low.

It all depends on your wheels and what car you have.

Mates EF9 tucking

old DA6 tucking

My cars just on rim tuck at the moment...
No inner gaurds at the front so it doesnt rub. Beaten the lip in the wheel well down so its flat so it doesnt chunk up my tyres...

In all honesty it looks cool but is a cunt to drive... people ask me how do i get over bumps? i say i find another way around.

If you that low - your too low. As stupid as it may sound, there is no logic in being that low. With that setup you will not get a cert - and you will get in trouble with the police. Universally stupid man...

This is why car enthusiasts get a bad name, from boyracers like yourself. You take shortcuts because you can't afford to do it properly, and fang around nana spec cars to make up for the lack of real power. If you can't afford to do it properly, save up to do it, or don't do it at all. You should know by now this forum does not tolerate half arsed and unsafe modifications.

Who said anything about racing or "fanging" around? its just low. low how i like it... i dont speed so its not like its outrageously unsafe... put me in a fiat uno - a honda civic - a bongo van - a shopping trolley - a lambo... it dont change how you drive and 20 bucks says ill thrash every one of you in a controlled car around the track... your handfull of track days doesnt meet up with years of motorsport...

So why harras people you dont know about their driving of which you havent seen?

This thread is about lowness and giving the dude some advice,
My advice is when you get to bumps and its just the front your having trouble with go over slow on a angle with the handbrake up (so the back is tucking down)

In the end its your car.
Have it how low you want it.

No matter who says what... Words are words.

You completely missed my point. You say "it's your car, you have it how low you want" - yes, this is true to a point, if you can do it and still have fully functioning and safe suspension. However, if it takes it to a height where the suspension you have chosen is unable to perform its function (even though those trademe sleeves can't really do it in the first place) - why risk the safety of other drivers because you believe "you can have it as low as you want"? If you have to remove your bumpstops, your shocks aren't meant to be that low. They will be sitting at an extremely low point in their cycle, if not at the bottom - meaning they have little>no travel. The reason your suspension feels so hard is probably because of this. The shocks will blow very quickly, and the handling characteristics of your car will be no better than a car without suspension. No certifier in their right mind will certify that suspension. If it can't be certified, it isn't safe for usage on the road. I am yet to see someone fail a cert with full coilovers or proper coilover sleeves with matched shocks (apart from the common brake bracket issue).

+1 for ban. Every thread I see this dude in it hurts my head.

As for tucking I managed to get my EG tuckig hard, but then because I still wanted suspension travel the wheel got cut up on the first bump I hit when it met the seam below the chassis rail. I have pics here someplace....

*looks for pics*

*edit

will look for the pic of the tyre after the bump

years of motorsport experiance?

arent you 16?

do you race jalopys or something?

if you do actually race in legitimate series you would understand the need for performance over looks, yet you unsafely modify a road car?

i smell bullshit......
