Tyre size

Hey guys I got myself new wheels today

Size: 17 inches
PCD's: 5 x 100 / 114.3 (Multi - Fit)
Offset: +38

Now I need to get some tyres, this is where i need help. What tyre sizes should I go for ? I have a tight budget of around $250 and I donot intend to buy brand new tyres as im only going to use this car for another 4 months. My car is a 1997 Honda Prelude.

Also any cheap/reliable secondhand tyres shop in south/east auckland you would recommend

Mate you've done everything round the wrong way...You fork out for brand new alloys yet only leave $250 for tyres? Skimping on the only thing thats holding you onto the tarmac isn't a good idea. A good set of tyres was the best mod I did to my old car.

$250 will be very very pushing it but you may find some bare legals on trademe if you're lucky. I've found recently the ones without pictures go for alot cheaper because people dont bother looking.

As for size. What is the width of the rim?

If you want to get rid of these to recover some costs i might be keen depending on the tread depth. I can even swap you for some tyres which are border line failures    .

PM me

backwards is an understatement.......youll be lucky if they fit with 215's due to the offset of the wheels.......use a 205/45/17 and you should be ok....however you wont find those cheap.......who am I kidding you wont find cheap 17 inch tyres unless they are rooted.........

not trying to be negitive bud but you should have done some homework......

215/40/17s work also but will be too wide for the offset of the wheel you have chosen.

ill have a hunt round for some cheap 205/45/17's or similar but I dont fancy your chances
