you have to unbolt them and adjust the bottom mount

if you adjust 'a' you will change the preload, not reccomended!

FFS someone needs to sticy my thread about these types of shocks.

out of interest it took me less than an hour to remove the old shocks install the D2's and set them evenly and have it back on the ground to see how it sat (id never removed them before). took about 20 mins more to get it sitting at the right height.

this is the same as tein suspension and most other brands of adjustable suspension

Firstly i the pic that u posted A is the spring pearch, under the spring pearch is the spring locking ring, and the bottom ring is the locking ring

then put them tops in loosely then the bottoms then do the bottoms up and tighten the tops to the corect torque.

then get the ruler out again and set the distance between the bottom of the locking ring on the top pearch to the top of the locking ring on the bottom if the shock. making sure they are all even. lock it all up.

the correct method for adjusting these coilovers is to lock the top locking ring to the sping pearch. to adjust the height u have to turn the spring pearch (the top ring) which screws the threaded part of the shock down into the lower mount.

the distance ur measuring is the black threadded bit between the 2 purple rings.

drop the car off the stands then. have a look how it sits. take the car for a drive for a week or so to let the springs and shocks settle. take some measurements from the ground to the guards and work out what needs to be adjusted. readjust the heights. how ever much u wanna adjust them just move the pearch that much. ie if u wanna go 1cm lower make the threaded distance 1cm shorter.

as for the break lines ull need to bend the brackets that they supply to a simular shape of the ones on the stock shocks, was a pain in the ass to do but it looks good and fits perfectly. in the picture below u can see what ive done. the bracket actually come from the oppisite side of the shock to where it attaches to the break line.
what u have to realise is that when the shock etc is in the car that the top and bottom bit dont move, but the black shock thing can. when the 2 top rings are locked together it essentually makes them part of the black shock so when u rotate the top ring (spring pearch) it turns the whole shock and either winds it either up or down into the lower mount.

but please make sure the springs are captive, then ull get the most lowering from them

make sure u do the locking rings up tight when ur finished (top one should be locked from when u have the spring captive and never be undone)

loosen perch c., move that up to lower the car. once you have c at desired height, then use your wrench, and turn the shock body using pearch A to turn, turn until the body Perch B meets up with Perch c, lock in, Done. next please.

I've also stickied this.

^ nice idea but isnt this more geared to adjusting a specific type of coilover suspension? Seems kinda off to list spring brands etc. another thread maybe?

Wierd, I had mine at the lowest ride hieght and it was impossible to not have captive springs. The futhur you wind the bottom body (B in pic) of the strut up it takes away from the room to lower the spring perch. In fact I had to wind the lower spring perch up a bit (compressing/preloading the spring) in order to get the body up the threads.

mine has about 20mm of thread left all around but the front 'B' is as far as it can go on the front, i have an ef though which has different parts on the bottom, i think its plenty low enough, all the springs are captive too.

how bout we add damper adjustment help to this thread as well
(i need advice...)

its not hard to adjust the dampers just put the long allen key tool in and rotate. if u wanna know if ur going harder or softer u can put in the other screw on bit.

thats about all the help u can get on that bit

do the spring up tighter? put a slight preload on it
