t1r's are good...however soft which is ok if your driving for comfort but for length of life id look at a harder compound tyre...ie: bridgestone or dunlop sport max

Proxes T1-R, SP Sport Maxx, Eagle F1 GS-D3 Tyres

The problem with Proxes T1-R isn't so much the compound.
But their soft sidewall characteristic.
Toyo's Proxes range traditionally has soft sidewalls.
Which means progressive as tthey reach their limit, which is good.
But they do feel loose compared to stiffer sidewalled tyres like Brigestone's Potenza S-03 Pole Position or Michelin's Pilot Preceda.
It doesn't mean they're a bad tyre, not by any means as they're excellent.
Particularly at the very low prices they sell for.
And a perfect introduction, if you've never bought before, a true ultra high performance tyre.

Bridgestone's Potenza GIII are average at best.
And well below the level of performance of the Proxes T1-R.
You won't find the same ultra high performance grade Potenza RE040/RE050/RE050A or Potenza S-03 Pole Position around $200 per corner in 215/40R17.

Dunlop's SP Sport Maxx is an excellent choice
A good leap in performance over the Direzza DZ101.
And a very good option to the popular Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
If tyre wear is your major concern.

After owning a set of Toyo T1-r's i conclude the following.

Current tyre pressure:
F: 30PSI
R: 32PSI

My car used to handle quite resonably before this new tyre change.
Since the change i've started to notice some rather strange anomilies.

Road noise: mid to low

At 100kph weaving the car slightly from left to right then back to center... the rear of the car almost becomes unsettled and takes awhile to come back to center.

Attacking low/mid speed corners is fine. High speed corners is a bit unnerving because the rear of the car seems like it become unsettled on corner exit. Mid Apex the front of the car will often bite down too much taking you into the kerb.
Also i lose feeling from the front wheels upon corner entry especially at high sloping/downhill/camber corners. Constant adjustment is often required especially on exit as the rear feels like its going to let lose.

This uneasy feeling has dropped corner entry and exit speeds drastically. Its never a good thing to lose confidence in your car on high speed corners....

Now i'm not 100% sure that its the tyres causing all this grief... but i'm willing to bet my money on it as no other suspension settings have been changed since the installation of them.

Good for just city/safe driving... wouldn't really consider it a 'performance' road tyre at this stage..
