Location: Christchurch | Are you really the Manager of "Mag and Tyre Direct" in New Plymouth as your profile says? If you are, I wouldn't reccomend anyone to go anywhere near there with your attitude below; Quote:

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | why 15? easy.... not all of us are baller. must face the fact, we drive honda cos its pretty much cheap (although its not cheap after u put all ur mods and stuff). but its not expensive. being 15", tires are still reasonable. starting at $800 budget, u'll get a good top-of-the-shelf tire set for ur rims. 2ndly, wider variaty and choice. please tell me, which brand doesnt make any 15"... i really want to know. 3rdly, 15 will looks good on my civic hatch. i dont want to imagine im rocking 18"...! but back to the topic, i choose 15" cos it looks better on my car, better than my stock 13". period. i have no problem with 17" mags, as long as it looks neat & tidy with the car. ie: such as commodores or falcons, or odysseys, accords (especially the v6's.. they look yummy on 17"), bimmers... etc etc. what i usually thought, ur wheels must be proportional with ur car body size. about unsprung weight, light-weight, handling, thats the technical side of the world. if u mod the car for street and light circuit-duty, then they have no significant meaning.

| Senior Member 8,000rpm (B Series Redline!) | WTF, this thread is fuckin gay, all you originally asked for is a few suggestions and answers, but instead you throw all your toys out of the cot, just STFU and go home. I really hope your mean 12A bridgey blows in the next 1500kms (which is highly likely )And BTW, there is no hot girls in New Plymouth, and even if there is these days, chances are they are related to you

IMO bigger wheels suit bigger car and cruisers like BMW or something and 15s or 16s suit like Civic's or Integras

Location: Auckland | Hahaha "Mag and Tyre Direct - The Home of Chrome" Says it all really Giant 20" chromies au were popular in 2000 when they were still rare and still fucking expensive. Any wannabe gangstaaaaaar with $5 in his pocket can get a set on finance now so they've lost their... whatever they had going for them originally... It's okay though, fashion is cyclic, come back in 20 years and I'm sure they'll be lovely ![]()

Location: Auckland | on my old civic i had 16s on it to start with and had the 2 14s for dragging, i put all 4 14s on it at the end when i sold it and was surprised at the performance difference even in street trim. A slight lesser rolling OD (conversion is never perfect) and a lot less weight to turn. Personally i don't see the point in the large rims, i know they hinder performance, they cost far to much for something cosmetic (more than i can afford to spend ), and i haven't seen many that really blow my skirt up (so to speak) so i really don't see the point. In fact, not saying anything about the thread starter or anyone else here or elsewhere but if i see super large rims on any car i can't help but think they are a try hard trying to copy an image others have created and don't understand what they have done to their car.

Location: Waitakere | judging by the comments made by sirwags_np, i have come to a car modifying solution 1. 20" chrome can go on any car 2. a rota is the only engine to come out of japan in the last 100 years 3. your car now sits like a off roader thanks to your 20" chrome and needs a snow plow style body kit to make it look low 4. i can simpithise with thise guy, i mean he has 20" chrome mags clogging up his show room, there is no room for mags for his rota buddies

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | If I could get 16" or 17" semi slicks in NZ for a decent price that will actually fit my car then I'd use them, until then im sticking with my 15" Works and 205/50/15 Toyo's. Also my BB4 Prelude brakes with race pads stuffed under the 15" rims seem to do a pretty good job of hauling the car up from 200km/h on the track ![]()
