good performance modifications for vtec preludes??

Can I have suggestions for vtec prelude performance mods. I already have the air intake coming from outside the engine bay so its sucking in cold air, and a bit of weight reduction (eg. no fat chicks!). Thinking about things like vtec controllers, chips, exhaust, carbon fibre bonnet etc etc. would be handy to no gud value for money. comments would be appreciated alot

All answers here man... SEARCH DAMNIT!!!

Headers and exhaust... end of story. From there consider a VAFC-2, and a good dyno tune through someone like NZEFI. After that you can start to look at ignition and head work. If you are in Invercargill, deal through Japrace here in Christchurch. They are good guys and will be able to get you in the right direction.

lol thanks for the genuine replies! didnt even think about headers. ill definatlely give them a ring sometime.maybe have me a roadtrip! i have like $800 currently, but im always making more.not too keen on spending too much although, mates are going on about a turbo kit, but that money would feed a hell of alot of starving african children.

$800. You aint guna get much change outa that if you want to get some good gains.

That sort of money would be ok if you wanted to rice up your car and have some street cred i.e GT Wing and neons ROTFL  but as for performance it aint guna do jack. Sorry for being brutally honest

After Market headers are key i think coa there aint much point havin a CAI and Exust system unless you have adecent set of headers

Have a look on www.92lude.com there are bunch of free little mods you can do that will give you some little gains.

Once you have I/H/E then llok at things like a VAFC and a Fuel pressure reg. that plus a dyno tune and you should be well into the Banks or eh hem Mummy's back pocket.

External cap and coil never hurt as well as upgraded plugs.

After that the world is your performance garage. Aftermarket cams and cam gears, Intake manifolds, High compresion pistons.

Or Just do what Americ_ian did and turbo the little bugger Boooobaaaaaaa Pish

Take the $800 and save it for suspension. Absolutely the best mod you can do, especially on a Prelude

Also if you want a good weight reduction, get rid of everything from the fire wall back. The whole lot. also remove Air Con and Cruise controll if you have it and you might even beat my record. 8)

Riiiiiight... Not sure what you removed when you say "rear strut bar" because Preludes don't come with one factory? And if it was an aftermarket one, you've done more harm than good by taking it out

If you're not into cornering you've wasted your money buying a Honda. Handling is their strong suit, not straight-line racing.

I also fail to see how a FWD car will be quicker in a straight line when a rear strut brace is removed.

But anyway, I/H/E/tune/weightloss. Also consider a lighter flywheel, lighter wheels, lighter suspension components, removing and welding over the sunroof if you've got one etc etc.

really?,mine was 15kgs and i tested it with it off and it was faster than before =/. i want to work on weight reduction mostly, because i think lighter cars are way more fun to drive aswell as faster. yea, definately considering lighter wheels, maybe carbon fibre bonnet too

but..... I thought it was just for straight line speed... hondas are mostly only fun on bends, when you dont have to button off like the competition.

15kg for a strut brace??? ohhh was yours a garage rangi mod cast iron railway track one?

dude there is no way a strut brace would weigh 15 kg! you must be mistakn with something else. i dont even think 20 strut braces would weigh 15kg put together!
