| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | ok guys who thinks there should be sponsorship ok guys this topic is on sponsorship for the people that take their cars to the shows every year. because i was thinking back in the states there is this one big company and they sponsor people and their cars and the website is www.getsponsored.net and they only charge $79 us to apply for sponsorship. and if u are successfull u get heaps of gear and get to help other people that are looking at doing the show scene. and could put them on to the right people to work on their cars and who not to go to.and the sponsor pays for your car to get fixed if u can't afford to get it fixed quickly. |

yeah i know that is why i was thinking of asking around if it was alright with the admins and the mods of the club to see about sponsorship for maybe the next autosalon. and see what companys are looking for in their company being sponsored and that we get a package together of ideas to show the companys and then people who wanted sponsorship would have to fill out a form with all the questions on it that the americans have on theirs. and one of the big questions would be are u looking at going to all the shows this year. | |

| Senior Member 8,000rpm (B Series Redline!) | its not that easy to get sponsorship... the people sponsoring will think, what makes this person so special? if you do get sponsorship from people in NZ, i think all you will get is 10-15% off discount or something like that. you will still need LOADS of $$$$$$$ to build your car.

anyone trying to read that aloud would pass out!!! As for the whole sponsorship thing I think the NZ scene is a bit small (although it has got much bigger in the last 3-5years) and the companies dictate the prices. Sponsorship in NZ is getting work done on your car at "mates rates" if you know someone in the buisness. There is a bit of competition but nothing like in the US. All over the US, but especially in cali there are so many shops competing for the consumer dollar that they can afford to give away lots of product in order to draw in more customers. Especially if the product/service is good then word of mouth about products etc would be a good way to spread word about new or existing companies. If you want/need a sponsor then the best idea is to go and ask. The worst that could happen is that they could say no....... or laugh at you....... ............ or break you legs ![]()
