The awesome terminator sound track was actually written by a "D grade" german songwriter and was first published as a soundtrack for a totally average porn film in the '80s, The song was played on a synthesizer and was nasty as hell.

Source please. Why would American born Brad Fiedel be listed as the composer if he didn't write it? Surely this German would be suing the pants off the movie studio...

As for the movie, like Star Wars, I only count the originals as the ones to watch. No one else seems to understand what the Terminator series is about...

Cant find the source anymore, hell its probably not even true but the claim was that the soundtrack did not first appear in Terminator but in none other than a shitty low budget porn film. It had the bit of the film with the sound track in question converted to digital format and the tune was unmistakable.
The beef was that the porn film was made before 1984. Maybe Fiedel sold it before terminator and bought it back again, maybe he had other influences at the time he wrote it, who knows but the important thing is the poignant part of the song appeared in a film before terminator 1.
It's the beginning part, the tuneful part not the clashing machinery sounding bit.
