RIP Scott Kallita

2 time champion NHRA drag racer Scott Kallita was killed yesterday in a 500Kmh crash. Very sad but I guess he died doing what he loved

Re: RIP Scott Kallita

It's odd that the car maintained it's speed towards the end of the track, normally when they blowup over the line they manage to slow down pretty quickly. Then again that track has bugger all runoff.

What a shame.

Re: RIP Scott Kallita

most of the time the slow up because they pull to the side and end up running along the walls which slows them down, sadly for him his car stayed in the centre of the track

Re: RIP Scott Kallita

most of the time they can pull a handbrake which makes the car skip and bounce which helps slow them down,in this case he was probably knocked out after the initial explosion-well lets hope he was.also he didnt hit a concrete wall at the end, after he went through the sandtrap and catch net he went through a foam retaining wall which is also designed to slow people down and then the car skipped and hit a concrete pole which was what took his life,on the video it looks like a concrete wall but its just the foam wall he hits.the pole is in a position that normaly wouldnt get hit but going through a sand trap and catch fence at 300mph caused the car to skip through it and get air borne straight into the pole.
