Handling

Hey all you fulers. just making an inquirey about the benifits of handling when you put some 17" magn on your car I know that i can get good tyres for them by my work we get toyo tyres and the boss says that the t1-s is a very goos tyre on wet or dry so would it b worth it getting a set of 17" mags with thosw tyres on them to get better handling?

you will get less tyre wall flex which may help improve your hadling a little and should improve the turn in responce a bit. For improved handling you might be better off investing the money on a good set of shocks, and maybe some springs, and possibly a decent set of tyres on the rims you have . . . depending on there size

my 92 Civic sedan is stock susp on 215/45/16s. The main benifits are in grip especially off the line and when turning hard into a corner.

I find that when you go round a corner fast you get more body roll than the standard wheels would normally allow before losin traction. Can feel funny at first cause the car goes round the corner leanin all over the show but still grippin real good.

Not sure how it affects acceleration, as I have a factory close ratio g/b

There are better ways to improve the handling of your car.

bigger mags = looks.

i think 16's or 15's would give better handling than 17's...

I agree with FLYRYD, I found my 205x40x17's on my familia had no tyre flex, and were unpredictable as to when they were about to brake loose. Flatmate had the same [worse] problem in his 200sx with 215x40's, so he now runs 225x45 and 235x45 front and rear. IMO the 195x50x15's that I've got now are bettre for handling, JDM styles 8)

yeah i dont know about mag sizes
i had 15, 16 and 17"
but i reakon it was the suspension that made it handle really well
but i liked the 17" better
