| Senior Member 8,000rpm (B Series Redline!) | An ITR S80 with LSD removed; please read if this sounds familiar I remember someone on here a while back making a comment (with a sly little wink emoticon after it) about an ITR S80 gearbox that they knew of floating around the club which has had the LSD removed for whatever reason and replaced with a stock open diff... Seems that box has ended up in my possession and i wouldn't mind knowing the background on it, i.e why the original diff is missing....and where I can find it. I've tried heaps to search the post and postee out but it's pretty obscure and a bit of a needle in a haystack. If anyone knows anything, pm me or post up here.... I just pulled the engine and box from my coupe as it sold and turns out it's got an open diff in it, now i need to source and install an original equivalent diff for the new owner. A bit embarrassing. The previous owners of the box were Brett aka unlimitedpower from Dargaville and Adam aka Evltek from FBI if that rings any bells. They are both unaware the box was non-lsd. |

It's not a major, I'll just give the new owner the diff out of my spare box and install it, just means my H2B box no longer has a diff in it until i can find another one ![]() |

Adam swapped unlimitedpower the current genuine type-R box and motor in exchange for the cusco 1.5 way and the "poor mans" type R engine which unlimited power was running in the coupe at the time. (engine used to belong to "antz" originally) (The cars a bit of an nzhondas slutbag.) I have been in contact with unlimitedpower and it's explained a few things for him, like why ever since swapping the cusco for what was supposedly an oem helical it never behaved like an LSD. I actually found an old post of his bagging on how shit oem helical lsd's were , no wonder he thought that though, the LSD he thought he had all along was actually an open diff!! ![]() | ||

It could have been anyone at any stage which nicked the diff. I think it's on it's 6th owner now since the guy in wellington who sold it to Adam. |

| Senior Member 4,000rpm (Taxi Drag) | Re: An ITR S80 with LSD removed; please read if this sounds familiar Id like to at least clear my name i was most certainly under the impression that it was a Stock ITR box from a car that had 110,000KM on it, And yes maybe i should withdrawal my comment about stock Honda LSDs being sad sack waste of time pieces of shit. As it now looks like what i had all along was a open diff. Im still kinda sad to see that car go but ive moved onto smaller and better things with much more balls. I hope who ever has the box now puts it back to the way it was so no one else gets ripped off. There arn't a lot of people on here that know me personally but the ones who do should be able to vouch for me that im not the sort of person to go ripping people off. |
