| Senior Member 3,000rpm (Grandma Drag) | Where to get wof in TGA with external wastegate Hi guys, It's wof time, and I'm slowly getting my car up to wof standard. All that's really left is a horn, which will obviously be fixed, and my external wastegate that's bothering me. I've got a few quotes around the place for getting it plumbed into the exhaust, but money is fairly tight at the moment being a student, studying, and working + helping out at home; so if anyone knows of any place that'd be lenient on cars with externals that'd be very helpful. Keep in mind this isn't a cefiro on cut springs with a dodgy pre-cracked trademe special (tial-style etc), it's a properly built car. Any help would be much appreciated. Not sure if the (mostly) NA Honda group would know, but if they do, this might help me get back into a Honda

![]() edit: Well, there are heaps of people with externals getting around. They must get their wof's somewhere. I was gonna see if an exhaust shop can make me a flange that I can unbolt as I wish, but $$$

![]() get a metal plate made up and bolt it onto where the wastegate would go on the manifold and drive CAREFULLY to the WOF centre if you have no luck, cheap and effective. Just dont hit boost...

Get your WOF next to macs mufflers at vehicle service center, good fullas there. They will prob fail on external though, but the guy who works there (dave) is in nz drift series so pretty understanding on modded cars. |

I am pretty sure they are legit providing they exit behind the rear door. The noise of them is probably more the issue nowdays though. One of the Subbie guys down here I know runs his out the back by the muffler and gets normal WOFs afaik.

| Senior Member 3,000rpm (Grandma Drag) | Re: Where to get wof in TGA with external wastegate Well, to an inspector, I'm guessing he's just going to see that it's not plumbed into the exhaust, instead of checking all the lines to it. I'll go for a wof first, then when they fail me, I'll get a plate made up. Has anyone had any arguments with wof inspectors about this?

See if you can find some old v8 type place. I got a cert in my turbo levin with a externally vented wastegate. The guy didn't seem to know what it was, and because of where it vented under the motor, it was pretty quiet compared to most. The guy didn't mention it. | |
