Cost of a full colour change paint job?

hey i was wondering of how much it would cost to completely change a red crx delsol to a white one. And i mean everywhere so that there is almost no trace of the red, like when you lift the bonnet and on the inside of the doors and stuff. Just a general idea would be helpful.

cheers

Engine In and Out - $500-$800
Strip Car fully - $400-$600 (or you and some mates can do it over a weekend)
Paint - $2500-$3000 (a typical price for a fairly straight job)

It has been said before though, the quality of the final result is usually proportional to what you pay...
Id say go for something between $3000-$4000 and choose a special colour!

The guys who painted Duncans EK civic sedan (that greenish-goldish one from whangarei) painted the engine bay without removing the engine, just unplugged everything and masked it up. They quoted me about $1800 [from memory] for a full respray in red with a blue pearl from my red eg6.

Cost of a full colour change paint job?

Time, effort and money are all expected when you do a custom paint job on a car. Mine was off the road for a while but finding the right colour, panelbeater and painter took forever. (do the research). My car was originally black and was told at the time that the final look would turn out better because of it. The final product was awesome. Cost approx $2000. It's who you know, not what you know. :)

yeah doing some of it yourself makes all the difference, my mate and I we stripped his whole car down and primed it MINT!!! smoothed it all etc the carpainter only charged him $1500 to do all the painting in a gold/yellow colour....some of you may have seen it around...KKNASS??
 anyway yeah doing some of it yourself definatly changes it aye

..

yea sure fine you can do the work yourself but yourve got to remember if you do the prepins work , painting done on car wont be garenteed to be good... a cars paint is only as good as its preperation.. yea sure you pay alot more to get painter to prep it ... but you get the insurance that it will be good and you can complain if its not.. just somthing to keep in mind..

I agree.

Howeva, I stripped mine myself, well most of it. You can save more if you do that yourself. But again, its better to see them first and work out a deal. Depends if ya just want a paint job, or a real nice job as to what you pay for it.

I say allow 4 grand for something decent.

Well as mine is currently being painted as we speak it all depends on a lot of factors.

Preparation: How straight/old the car is to begin with will obvioulsy cut down prep time. Also if you gona paint the engine bay, door/boot shuts etc or if you just gona be happy with just the exterior done

Colour: Ive had a hell of a job finding the colour that I want. It turned out that the one I wanted was a candy over a metallic with a gold pearl over top which would have cost about $7-10k to do 8O so obviously I aint going that route. So ive gone for something thats still gona look the business without the huge price tag

Payment: If your paying cash you know you can get a better deal

Id would say at least $4k for what you have said you want
