FD2 - JDM CTR in NZ

Hi I may be relocationg to NZ in the next few months, i'm in South Africa at the mo.
I was wondering can you import a JDM civic type-r FD2 (4dr) into NZ without much of a prob?

I have the FN2 type-r (Euro - not too impressed) BUT I really want the FD2 i want the extra two doors AND the 165kw(222bhp)

what can you expect to pay in NZ$ for a 2007???

your definately making the right move wanting a fd2r.. those euro civic's havnt recieved much praise at all (not a real R in most minds)

the fd2r are going for around $40k here on the yard with >1,000km last time i checked

wouldnt worry about the intrest rates its insurance and fuel prices that will screw you over

insurance? what would you expect to pay for the FD2 (say 38K$)?
and fuel well the FD2 is no V8?

no but at well over $2 a litre Even a daihatsu charade is starting to become thirsty !!!

Insurance it depends on your age etc really

In regards to loans you can look to secure the entire value of the purchase on a loan. At the moment (im a finance broker) if you are an "a" your looking at 14.5 to 15.95%, with the worst rates heading towards 21-22% p.a

I'm currently paying around 15.5% intrest on a loan of $34000 (my '07 type-r FN2) this is around $750/month for 60 months.
do banks work the same over in NZ?

$35000 is fair,unless you luck enough to find someone like me to sell you one for stupid price.I sold one few month before,should be the cheapest you can get in nz.
