Re: Whats your To-Do List For NIMM?

Hmm maybe buy some backup pads incase the current ones run out of meat at NIMM (getting thin)
(depends how thin they are by october)

Tidy up little things on the car
Bring spare oil for the oil burner
Hope it doesn't rain (no tread left on semis)
About all i can be bothered doing

Try using your stock 262mm setup with HAWK HP+ pads, IF you outbrake those then get prelude setup.
Prelude setup is dam heavy, and my heavy civic coupe can't outbrake the 262mm setup at the honda track days

At LEAST 1L of oil

It doesn't burn it on the road, or at drag days just track days.

It burns heaps of oil on over run, i.e in gear at high rpms off throttle.
One day I'll fix it

Heh mine burns oil on the track too... put it down to not having a baffled sump and getting oil surge I guess.

Already running DS2500's in my stock clappers with Znoelli rotors.

I'm going to need new pads by then anyway, and I have the Prelude stuff here so I might as well make use of it.

Re: Whats your To-Do List For NIMM?

Ignorant I am not. I kind of resent that sort of sentiment TBH.

If there was noticeable blue smoke, I would say a rebuild is required, however consistent good compressions and a distinct lack of blowby probably indicate all is well, not perfect mind, but no reason a rebuild is 'needed.'

Feel like picking at me some more?

Probably. Stressful morning/lack of coffee. Guess we'll see if the car blows up at the Manfeild trackday next weekend.

In which case the "to-do" list will be much bigger

Re: Whats your To-Do List For NIMM?

Sorry wasn't hassling you, just saying if it burns oil at the track like my car then it needs a freshen up to stop it, (doesn't mean it's low on compression or down on power in a big way)

Good compression doesn't mean it won't burn any oil

You will be hassling me at the track when you see me topping up oil all the time.

Just think, if the car is using oil at the track then you can't say the motor is fresh. (unless it has an oil leak )

Get a weekend pass and come up for a few cold beverages and some good old shit talking!

I'v got to do brake disks, pads, fluid. Strip all the back out and im gonna make a section of exhaust to bolt on inplace of the standard muffler.
With the last civic i had, i just took the muffler out and left it (up at meremere), and bolted it back in before i drove home. But i thinks a replacement pipe with a small muffler would be better.

And tyres!...... And some tein sprins.
