How much is it normally?

Im not in the market for one at this stage but it may convince a few more people to do it if they knew how much they were saving.

The custom dyno tuning will have to take place at Gizzmo on the dyno, in auckland.
F20C if the computer can be chipped it can be done but i think the F20C will require a Hondata then tuning.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Daaang thats a huge savings guys, I'd advise everyone in a position to get some tuning done to cash in their piggy banks and take this offer!

I know a lot of people readily endorse the power gains given by the gizzmo chips!

Hmm, maybe coil overs could wait another month or so....

What sorta hp gains would you be looking at? How much is a re-tune when you do other mods??

i think when gizmo custom tunes your car, its better than getting a chip for it. custom tune you get 1-3 hp more....

usually what happens in the chip, is that gizmo takes the feul map from a car simular to your car and put it in the ecu. so they dont tune your one... custom tune is a better.

i just wished they could chip a ITR....

I've had that done to my car, its works well.

I went to get my car's ECU upgraded, but the standard B16A upgrade made my car drop power when it tried to vtec ( sometung about my car having diff fueling than the b16a1 i believe ) so he gave it a free dyno tune with the ECU just to make it work....took 2 days though.

I ended up with 106kw @ wheels on his dynograph with nothing else but a redline air filter. Got the launch control tuned in aswell. Every one has diff opinion's about it but i find it great fun.

One things for sure, he makes your car run quite rich, and retards the timing in most cases.

I'd like to get mine tuned.

But i am guessing you will need some mods in order to get the benefits of the tune?

I only have a filter and straight through exaust.

Also once tuned...... can it be altered later once i get cams extracters etc. So i still keep the same chip but it just gets re-tuned?

I had my 1992 tegs chipped with gizmo by GP Performance in Kelston, West Auckland and it gave me a 12kw gain with exhaust and simota filter! It went nutz after that and was well worth the $450 I paid for the upgrade. The Chip removed the rev limiter and speed cut ( though there was times when I passed the 9000rpm mark and thought bout whether I should have drilled holes in the bonnet so that when the pistons fire from the block they wouldn't damage my bonnet )

One thing to remember is all this change in setup costs u when you go to fill up cos after the chip I only got 380km to a full tank of 96!!!!! and 98 was no better!!!!

The chip works as a piggyback system on top of your factory ECU. In other words your factory ECU is running the car with the chip changing a few things such as fueling, timing and anything else he wanted to change.

Then you can spend more and get an aftermarket ECU which is a complete replacement. But like most of us if you only have bolt on stuff i wouldnt think you could make much use of it. Could be wrong tho... :?:

Yeah he can remove it if you want, only takes 10 min.

But can they be reprogrammed?

I'm heading to Auckland for a holiday at the end of this month and I may be able to get the Finance Committee to agree to it since it's such a good deal.

Tell me tell me tell me! Don't make me ask them myself!

Blitza, just drop in and well put a rev limit back in your car, no cost.

The chips are not worth remapping, a new chip is written to save on having in problems through damage from fitting and or removing from the board.
Generally a car will take a full day on the dyno to get sorted.
The Gizzmo chip is fitted onto a header which is soldered into the computer board.
You can have your factory chip back, so can put car to standard at later stage if you wish.

Thanks

Just a note,
your car will require a oxygen sensor bung hole for the a/f used for tuning.
If you car doesn't have one it will be an extra cost that will need to be fitted.
thanks

this sounds like an awsome deal.

So it's $600 fitted and dyno tuned (i have a DC2)

does it actually take a whole day to do it?

and there will be a rev limit on the chip?

thanks for all the useful information ppl, it's great.

Hi,
The upgrade will take a day on the dyno, maybe two days depending on schedule, sometime one car takes longer and puts other car back slightly.
You choose your rev limit and that is added to the program

I have a sir EG9 8) . I/H/E and Gizzmo chip (few months ago $400 at GP Performance). The chip made a big difference. Went to the torque performance dyno day, got 103kw but curve didn't look too flash. Was a spike when vtec kicked in ie a drop in power before it picked back up. The man at torque perf thought that vtec was kicking in but there was a delay in changing from non vtec fuel ignition map to the vtec map. I rang gizzmo today they were helpful as said they would straighten it for free. Will write back with results.

yeah i emailed gizzmo this morning and got a reply pretty much straight away. They were very helpful.

I think it's all go for me.

Only problem could be......... i live in hamilton so i dont wanna spend two days in auck, but i am sure they'l get it done in one day.

good to see that someone actually replies to emails, you find that many other firms never reply to emails or take too bloody long to reply.
