Franchitti Fastest in Michigan Qualifying
IndyCar Series championship points leader Dario Franchitti posted a lap of 218.308 miles per hour Saturday at Michigan International Speedway to claim the pole for Sunday’s Michigan Indy 400.
It is the seventh consecutive race Franchitti has qualified in the top five and the second time this season the Scott has started from the pole.

Kanaan Prevails in Wild Michigan Run
On a day when more than half the IndyCar Series field was eliminated by crashes, Andretti Green Racing’s Tony Kanaan bested teammate Marco Andretti in a final 10-lap duel to win Sunday’s Michigan Indy 400 at Michigan Speedway.
It was Kanaan’s third victory of the season, and kept his championship hopes alive with four races remaining.
