Yummy............. love those M3 CSL's.

Not sure I could live with no aircon on a daily basis or even a hot weekend for that matter, but it's a small price to pay for such a hot - quick car

Hoooo weee! I thought Fraser must have had outright ownage of this thread after posting up the pics of his R34, but Mr M3_Power seems to have one-upped him with the CSL!

M3_Power: In my opinion you'll have to be pedalling your car pretty damn hard to get it below the 1m07s at Puke. As far as I know Neil Johns runs around there in the high 1m07s bracket and he's very quick for an old fart! Be prepared to loose a carbon splitter or two on the rumble strips too - they're very, very fragile!

M3 CSL =

Yeah Neil called me to find out a little bit more info about the CSLs and where to get aftermarket, tyres and racing parts for them. He told me he can comfortably do 1m07s around Puke in it and that was on worn out Michelin Pilot sport cups and full stock setup (but you are right he is pretty quick for an old fart) - Mine has adjustable Schnitzer racing suspensions and few other bits and pieces .... and yes you are right those carbon splitters do look fragile and I don't think they'd survive the rumble strips too well even though they are a single layer dry carbon fibre ... and at over $500 a piece from BMW NZ 8O)

As a comparison, Neil also said that he can easily do 1m09s in his DC5 Type R Rally car around Puke ... goes to show how good Hondas are when built properly and with a decent driver behind the wheel.

to Hybrid_h - Mine's a one previous owner CSL with under 13,000km when I bought it. There are a total of 10 official imports of the CSL in New Zealand (one was wrote off by the BMW driver training instructor on a booty call trip out in Puke from what I heard - and also only 2 derestricted cars i.e. no 250km limit) I also know of 2 other private imports from South Africa.

To canman - luckily mine has aircon - in fact I don't think any of the CSLs in NZ came without aircon. But mine is one of the lighter ones with no xenon lights or parking sensors.
Oh and loving your R34 GTR ... one of my favourite ones out there for sure.

Yeah it was a 4wd gtx, thats an old car of mine now... Before that was a GTR hatch no pics of that though was a while ago now.

My daily is a 93 glxi lancer auto, I love it! I can drive over anything in it

Maybe about to change to a 96 gsr with a e6 engine for a daily

I had an open chequebook offer for my car last week, but I just couldn't imagine buying anything better so turned it down.........

There's nothing like owning a car from brand new and building it up into your ultimate car..........my EP3's the same, it's coming together nicely won't ever sell that either.......

Random question, but what do you do for a job to be able to afford those mint cars?
