WOF Questions and weird comment

well my car failed its warrent sad aye!!

but well

heres the list

reasons for rejecting

1. right headlight aimed to low
2. right rear inner taillight to work
3. washers to operate
4. repair exhaust leaks
5. both rear wheel bearings need replaceing (how much would this be???)
6. rear trailing arm bushes to be replaced (how much would this be???)
7. Exhaust Noisy

Comments

Standard wheels fitted????????

can they fail an exhaust for being to loud if they didn't use any measuring deivce?

why would they put standard wheels fitted in the comments???

and how much would it cost for thoes parts? or would it be cheaper getting complete secondhand rear suspension/hub parts?

5-6, just get a whole set of rear trailing arms from the wreckers off a low km wreck, that will solve ur bush and bearing issue.

1, headlight is just undooing some bolts re aiming it

2, tail light could be a blown bulb

3, washers are the hoses connected? or is the pump stuffed?

4, take it to pit stop and get them to have a look, shouldnt be too much

Re: WOF Questions and weird comment

1. cheap to adjust
2. few dollars for a bulb
3. pick a part. should be cheapish
4. probably $50-100 at a exhaust shop
5. estimated $150 each genuine honda. (bnt might be cheaper) est atleast $100 labour
6. $110 genuine honda ( bnt might be cheaper) est $100 labour
7. get a silencer $50

could save labour cost by doing 5 and 6 together...

As a reference, EK9 Front wheel bearings... $65.70 trade or $101.25 retail from Honda - they replace the whole hub.

$80 labour each.

Prices from North Shore Honda, but shouldnt vary too much from place to place

Is entirely down to the inspector.

for number one, drive your car up to a wall that is flat and untextured. See the two lines from the lights that should project onto the wall. Adjust the low light to be at the same level as the correct one. Easy as. There is a bolt or a winder that adjusts the hieght.

So that if you go and swap the wheels for 24" chrome spinners that don't fit inside the guards and rub against the wheel arches when going in a straight line it will be more obvious that you changed the wheels for the WOF.

Just them trying to cover their asses as I'd say they suspect you have changed the wheels to get a warrant.

As for the bushes, pay the money to get them fixed properly. Suspension bushes can seriously fuck up your handling if they're not right and that a) defeats the purpose of lowering a car and sway bars etc., b) is not safe.

After you've replaced the suspension bushes, you'll also need a full wheel alignment too, don't forget that, it's very improtant.
