Honda At British International Motor Show 2006 (56K Beware)

Stand Up For Honda
What’s on the Honda stand at ExCeL?

Taking centre stage on the Honda stand is the Civic Type S, which makes its world debut at the show.
It completes the impressive ‘Built in Britain’ line-up of Honda hatchbacks.

Fighting the Type S for the London limelight is the Type R Concept, its first showing for the British public.
This stunning performance hatch is featured in a new Crystal Pearl White paint, sits low on huge 20-inch alloy wheels and hints at the production version, which goes on sale in the UK in March 2007.

The Type R and S are joined on the stand by the award-winning 5-door Civic, a car already winning hardcore fans in the UK, with sales approaching 19,000 so far this year.
All these Civics are of course built at Honda’s manufacturing operation at Swindon, Wiltshire.

Honda’s technologically-advanced luxury saloon, the Legend, is also on display at the show.
The Legend features ground-breaking safety equipment in the shape of CMBS – brake technology that can actually predict collisions – and SH-AWD, an intelligent all-wheel drive system that delivers incredible cornering performance.

The acclaimed 2006 Accord will have its doors open for visitors to study inside and out.
This latest version of the refined saloon features not only the much-praised 2.2 i-CTDi diesel engine, but can also be equipped with ADAS, Honda’s state-of-the-art driver aid that combines Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist – a system that actually steers the car to keep it in the centre of the road.

For motorsport fans, a specially-commissioned Formula 1 exhibit makes an explosive appearance.
‘View Suspended’ is an actual Honda F1 race car, taken apart and then displayed as a piece of 3D art.
It’s an original and captivating display of racing technology, and one not to be missed.
