Cool pics

It was a damn good day out. Prolly the best drift event ive been to. Good comentry Frank :thumbsup also saw you selling your nice merchandice at lunch . Man there were some really top runs in the final battles ...

The organisation around the track was brillant, with the flagging sorted and the Nissan 4wd pushing people out of the mud while it was under yellow instead of having the cars stopped and Gary race out of the pits...

What happened towards the end when suddely people had to move 2m back from the barrier? I fully understand the reasons behind this and i dont think people should be able to be anywhere near the barriers (have it much like any other motorsport event). But why was the rule suddenly implied at the end of the day? was MANZ present?

Also was there only one gate to get in and out? Cause that was chaotic getting in and i spent almost 2 hours queing properlly with others pushing straight to the front and cutting in .

Overall a damn good day out. I look forward to the next season

Yes, MANZ stewards were present, as at all D1NZ rounds. We received this direct order courtesy of the NZ Police and Pukekohe Park so we obliged.

Well, due to the nature of the sport where all the action happens solely between the Jenian Home sweeper and the Castrol esses, viewing is already difficult enough as it is, so with the influx of people coming to the Final Round, they just went to where there was space. They originally told us that it was fine so long as people did not lean on the barriers, but I guess they changed that rule on us halfway during the day.

Thanks for the comment about REPUBLIC tyson, we had great feedback about it, although I didn't spend much time on the stand myself. All the stock should start appearing in stores after this weekend. Look out for it in your local streetwear shops - we have 15 stockists nationwide. 8)

Round 6 was absolutely awesome! Anyone still bleating on about how drifting doesn't require any skill can come and stand with me on the inside of the sweeper next time D1NZ is at Puke. From two metres away I saw my main man Fanga chasing Shaun Falconer at a 30 degree angle less than two feet off the back of his bumper at over 160km/h! That requires a massive level of skill, commitment and BALLS that 99% of us just don't have.

Next year drifting in NZ will rise to the next level as more and more people come to realise that the top drivers and teams are becoming more and more professional. Potential sponsors should take note that it'll be cheaper to get in now than wait until it blows right the fuck up!

Oh yeah, Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel Republic Apparel

lol i saw you on the inside of the sweeper James , looked like you guys were having a good time haha. I had the old shitty van with the couch in the back again.....

The final round was damn impresive with drivers showing how far they have come . And in the pits it was looking very profesional, especailly the Drift Corp Camp :thumbsups: , with cars up in the air and tightening the diffs and bleeding the brakes 8) , its starting to look like your average rally service park . All the top cars are looking brillant and extremely presentable so there is no reason why sponsor's shouldnt be getting right into the sport.

lol on the day i heard a handfull of people asking, "what is the republic?" or "what is with those wierd flags and stickers?". Hahahahaaa. I hope Frank is paying everyone a dollar every time the "endorse" the company hehe

I was one of those getting told to move of the barriers. Me, my mates and our dog decided to sit on the barriers at lunch time cause it was one of the few places left unfulled, now im no stranger from puke so i knew that we would get told to move when racing started.

Anyway next thing i know all hell broke loose and everyone comes back from lunch and decided where we were sitting was perfect for watching till "MR BOSS" comes over anyway first thing he says is "Are you people stupid move your arses behind the fence" from there you can imagin what the smart asses said. This ruined it for me it went on for bout an hour he would leave then everyone would move up again. Now i have much respect for marshals cause i have been one and its not a fun job to do but i think if he had of approched(spelling) a bit differnt then the day could have gone a bit smoother.

Aw thanks Jimmy! You rock you guy!

SiR Civic: Comments taken on board, and I'll pass them onto our marshalling crew for next round. We were all under pressure by the NZ Police and Pukekohe Park, so we had to make things happen quick - otherwise they were threatening to close the event down and start asking people to leave. Did you see the Police chopper above the track? woo-ee!

Perhaps a speaker closer to the start of the sweeper would have helped?

Frank clearly announced over the system for everyone to move away at least 10 times before any marshalls went and spoke to anyone. (From what I could see inside the track)

Also, a lot of people didnt seem to know what the 'sweeper' was. Whether they were acting or just ignorant is up to you

Outside of sweeper where i was (big white ugly van), and you couldnt hear the speaker the majority of the time apart from when the commentry was being yelled haha . But when Craig Palmer ( i think ) was coming up and telling people to move back, no body listened. But i pulled the van forward about 3m ish, then he said this is the bench mark, everyone behind where the Van is  . Respect....

It was all far enough, nothing that was un manageable...

You guys had the best spot to WATCH from, me, Mike D, HLUSN8 and Justin had the bets spot to EXPERIENCE it from! We were two metres away from them! TWO METRES!!! Unbelievably cool.

By the way, that was Craig Palmer underneath Fanga's car at lunchtime actually changing the diff as it shat itself! Z (FLICKU) kindly donated a power steering reservoir to Adam and her diff to Fanga. From her daily driver GTS-T that she foolishly parked in the pits! Craig then put on his high-vis vest and went out and did the dirty work for the organisers that no-one wants to do. I certainly wouldn't want to go and reprimand a large crowd of hyped-up (and drunk in some cases) 16-25 year olds! Maximum respect to Craig for helping out everyone again.

Have to say the drifting was awesome!Pity about all the retards in the crowd.Someone needs to get to Puke early in the morning and rope off all the sections where the crowd can't stand like IN FRONT OF THE FKIN SCATTER SHIELD.What is with these people?Do they have a death wish? And the maggots in the stands yelling abuse at Ketz, wtf?

Props to Craig Palmer for doing all the dirty work marshalling and telling everyone to get back.I still can't believe the amount of alcohol present when its banned

Gutted Victor couldn't drive in the top 16 because of his gearbox problems

And how hott does Justin's matt black Cef look?

the purple S14 that is drifting belongs to Gaz Whiter from Driftcorp, the other purple S14 SILNCE belongs to one of the D1NZ guys and is just a poser car, although i bet it could skid if he wanted to.
