Location: Auckland | Some bastard just tried to pinch me car!!! Well that is a first, some bugger just tried to pinch my Civic! Alarm went off and then a car drove away in a hurry, thought "bah a car going past with a loud exhaust has set it off again". Went outside to double check and the drivers door is open!!!   . Door lock looks bent as usual (matching set on the car now ), but i guess on a bright note at least the bloody alarm worked and the buggers were scared off. Wonder if they will be back . . .

. Yeah i will have to make room in my tiny garage for it somehow . . .Well funny thing is the central locking wasn't working too good lately, found the door unlocked every so often. So i pulled it all apart on the weekend and fixed it. Good thing really cause i don't think i can use the key any more . Looks like every thing is still there though, and at least there was no breaking windws to try and get in . . .Now every car i hear slowing down to drive around the bend i live on makes my ears prick up. No sleep tonight me thinks.

Location: Outside NZ: United Kingdom | jeez Matt, that sucks never had anyone try it while it was at my house, and it used to just sit at the top of the driveway Umm, did i give you the Ef civic sedan rear door handles? if not, pop round and ill give them too you. No locks so you wont have to worry about the locks being an entry point  They just need painting as they are currently a matt black colour. |

| It sucks that someone had a go at your car. ...but: I'm glad I'm reading a "some shit tried to steal my car" thread rather than a "some shit stole my car" thread. Alarms. If you're going to modify a car, put one at the top of your list. If it's any consolation, 99% of car thieves are drop nuts cowards who run at the first sign of trouble. If the loser comes back - give him some trouble ![]() |

.Thing is, even if they didn't take it and they don't come back to try again it just means someone else is going to want to have a go as well. PH4T SI - I used to work with a guy who used to have a transformer he hooked up to his car for that exact purpose, but we are talking good old fashioned steel panel cars (think Valiant Pacer 8) ) not plastic fantastic tin foil cars of today. Besides, some old biddy is bound to brush up against one in a carpark and "reset" her pacemaker's ECU ![]()

Location: Auckland | there are no quarterlight windows on the EF hatches so they will have to break one of the large door or rear windows, which are rather large and conspicuous and move on the rubber seals making them a little harder to break. helps to have tinting on them as well i guess. I will probably put them handles on and maybe a decent solex lock on the boot. And wire in another kill switch to add to the immobiliser
