Good to see our tax dollars are going to a good cause

Got a text today from my mate, who somehow got a wee look at the new undercover cop car list today, (dont know how, his brother is in police training though). And the two cars he told me were on the list were.....

Honda S2000 and a
Mitsi Evo.....

both of these cars are bodykitted, tinted and have nice big exhausts on them.

8O 8O 8O

Supposedly.... the evo sits at the lights revving the engine, trying to get boy racers to race him, but i'm not sure on that, cos i think that would be entrapment or something.

Hah, I'd love to get pulled over by one of these guys and have them ask to check my exhaust noise, "Oh yeah, and when were done we'll check yours too eh?"

No it doesn't ... Type V just has a different steering mechanism much like the variable ratios in the new 5 series BMW ... S2000 doesn't come in AUTOS PERIOD ...

hmmm i think it might be a load of BS as well.

though the cops dont have to worry about loud exhausts and shit like that cuz there is a clause in the road rules which allow emergency vehicles do any modication to them that is neccessary

Yes it is entrapment, They want you to go fast so they can take your car/licence. It's sometimes called "baiting".

But if they've got loud exhausts and auto trans you'll be able to tell them apart easily. I reckon they would just have manual ones, and just get good drivers to take them.

T'aint nothin' new.....

Too many years ago I had a Mk1 Zephyr, Mk 3 engine with triples and everything. Dude in a Leyland P76 V8 lines me up on Welly motorway, I dust his ass and on go the sirens. He says he's gonna ticket me for dragging, I tell him I'll go him for incitement.

We ended up talking cars, he was most impressed with the Z car. No ticket.

True story.....man, those were the days!

That is fucking disgraceful policy from the cops. It is basically creating a crime to do people for - think about it, if there was no cop, there would be no drag and hence no crime. Its the same as when cops pretend to be dealers and offer to sell people drugs then arrest them as soon as the transaction is complete.

Basically it has NOTHING with fighting crime on the streets and everything to do with politically popular 'minority bashing' in this case 'boy racers'.

Nevermind all the violent crimes, burglary etc etc, we have to go trap people in fast cars into being done for drag racing. Wicked.

In case you didnt notice I have a problem with the 'justice' system in this country...

They made those to serve a purpose. For people to have more power than a standard lancer but without having to worry about changing gears..

Like saying, "Honda makes automatic cars with VTEC engines, those are pieces of shit"..

I don't get it.

And I have heard that there's a red GTO out in East Auckland, taunting people to drag him.. Then he pulls them over. Might have been on this forum discussing about it a while ago??

i doubt they will ever get an auto if they plan to rev it up beside you at the lights to try and get you going. Imagine it, neutral rev rev rev and the lights go green the boy racer drops the clutch and drives off into the distance while the cop picks up all the bits of auto trans off the road from dropping it into drive mid to high revs

At least our taxes are paying for some cool cars for a change, if i were to speed and get pulled over (to old for that now, weres my walker gone ) i would rather it were a worthy car like a kitted up japper or a supercar like they have in Europe than a crusty old white and blue falcoon
