| DA8 Opinions? Hi, I am considering buying a 4 door Integra DOHC Vtec, 89-92 vintage. Anyone own/owned/riden in one of these and care to pass judgement? I come from a rotary background and am considering buying a VTec as a daily driver, never actually driven one however. Any comments appreciated. Cheers. |

Location: New Plymouth | I got one, follow the profile link for a pic. I find there very practical cars and good as a daily driver. Comftable for the hoes in the back to. Very light for a 4 door to so theres not many dissadvantages. Only thing I dont like is the lack of torque from the b16a. Cheerz |

| Everything beond-8 said is true. > Good, practical daily driver > Plenty of head/leg room in the back for passengers, even with the front seats all the way back > The boot is a decent size > They're only 20kg heavier than a comparatively equipped DA6 (adding ABS and a sun roof beefs the weight up quite a bit) > Most parts that can be used on a DA6 will also fit on a DA8 > A well driven DA8 will hold its own against a DA6 ![]() |

Having owned a DA8 for 3 years now here are my thoughts: + Awesome reliability even when driven "spiritedly" most of the time ![]() + Fairly good fuel consumption + Quite practical, roomy enough for four people on long trips + Good sized boot + Handles well when lowered a bit - stock is kinda average + Looks better than the hatch (rather subjective of course )- Gearing a tad short for long drives - Water leaks are a real bitch - Stock seats suck As crshbndct says I don't think a DA8 will have you getting rid of your rotary, but it should provide a reliable, practical and fairly fun daily driver ![]()

Nah they have Power, mine is pretty even (half a bonnet) with a DA6 with header, chip, bored TB and intake. I only had intake when we raced. They def have some power, I can have a full load and boot and cruize up any hill in 5ft like a V6. I think they look better than the hatch because the back window is so big on hatches, but thats personal I guess. At only 1100 kG I am lighter than the DA6 with sunroofs or ABS (quite a few then). I didin't think the SiR EG would be much lighter than 1100 kg ? Oh well guesss that shows what good cars they are but they go for far to much I reccon. I'm sure they lighter than Preludes thou, and the room in the back is 10 times better hehe. Sweet

Remember the earliest EG9s are the same age as the latest DA8s. The eg9s also have a nicer interior and a newer shape

Location: New Plymouth | Yeah they are awsome cars I have wanted one for ages. But 10 g's minimum is way way to much, is still se them going for 13 grand I mean thats wrx, evo price and a 1600 lol.I like the hatches to, but they have the shittest front and back seats. Specialy compared to the SiR sedan. DA-8 cost mine with 17" lowered 5500 including new box and clutch shit I put in it all up. thats a deal man . Just make sure u leave the spoiler on, they look sooo bad without stock wing. |

Location: Akaroa | i have a stinky DA8....it seems to go ok...i had a DB8 beforehand tho so the torque difference is obviously noteable....still, they can look pretty sweet as long as ya dont get too freaky on it...the issue is prolly just getting a mint one....good luck with ya search...

Most street driven DC2s I've seen run ETs that range from low 15s to high/mid 14s... and one that ran a high 13. Quote:
