Car broken into

ok, tonight between 8pm - 10pm, my civic was fucken broken into :cry: down oxford tce, and they have hacked at all my locks, and tryed to steal my car as the ignition has been tampered with, they obviously got in through my boot, and all they took was the bloody face plate. which i just got my headunit last week. if anyone sees a Kenwood MP3 Cd face plate silver background (KDC-MP4023) around can u give me a bell on here, ohh yeah and if ne knows what i can do about the locks/ignition, please help me out, strange thing is they only took my face plate, when i had 2 bloody 12 inch subs in the back and a huge amp

i had the faceplate under the seat !!! and no i dont know why it didnt go off its all good now tho, im just getting a replace ment one. but still its annoying, plus need to get the locks fixed :evil:

yeah i am dam glad they didnt get my car or my subs. but my dad is a cop and he did a fingerprint thing on my car and found some prints. so hopefully catch the bastard. plus 4 other cars were broken into down there last night, while we were at that fur patrol and chch syhpony ochestra concert

us chch ppl... we're setting a trap. nearly every one i know with a nice honda has had it broken into this year, with lots of shit stolen... two 12" pioneer VCCS out of a lowered cream civic sedan, my mates black DA6 has had its whole stereo stolen, other cars broken into and stuff...

and pretty much i've had enough of this shit, my mate found out who one of them was, just a little 15-16 year old living with his parents...

and we've said it before but this time for real.. we'l set a trap in a hot spot, park all our cars round there with head units in, cd wallets on seats etc... and wait in hiding all around them all night.. wait til someone breaks into a car.. call the police... then jump them until the police get there! and hopefully not get done for assault.

But do it good stylez....get about 5 of your hardest lookin mates, grab a couple $100 cars off someone, a bait car, and set up somewhere convenient, eg underground car park....

Wait until the bait car gets attention, and then roll....the $100 pieces of crap are driven in to barricade the bait car or possible getaway car, everybody converges on the bastards, and act to restrain until the police arrive....

Good parts about this plan:

(1) When done very fast and coordinated, has potential to make them wet themselves before anything actually happens.

(2) Plan can be called off very quickly should something go wrong, $100 shitcakes can be used to evacuate in a hurry.

(3) The shitheaps can be damaged, don't matter. They also provide hiding places for participants, so you can be essentially invisible until its too late.

(4) Provided your tempers don't get the better of you, you can use your superior numbers to intimidate the bastards into staying put without violence. No assault charges. Even better if theres a getaway car involved, like with a lot of smash and grab jobbies nowadays, for obvious reasons.

(5) Coordinate it right and they can't escape. In a dense area like a parking lot, you can cover them easy.

Photos. Lots of them. One guy in a car 2 rows away with a decent camera with zoom can snap away all he damn wants coz the lighting's good...so even if nothing can be done, you could always post those photos up here ("accidently" since I'm pretty sure its illegal) and if anybody spots them on the streets we can make life difficult.


Hell, the Police can't do anything. Heck knows the assholes won't stop. Now car owners have to defend what we've worked for. It sounds a little vigilante, but really its only guiding in the Police, and if it works it works...


(For the record I'm glad my car doesn't have anything worth stealing on it...but god help the bastards if they try, nobody fucks with my Skyline.)

As an afterthought...

Grab some props. Replica guns maybe illegal, but disguising legitimate objects is not....How many different ways can you think of to make a prop that looks like a lead pipe at the right angle?

If you want to get a a little more elaborate, fishing line is always fun to experiment with....light line weight = invisibility....sounds childish, but hey....fall damage can really fuck you up sometimes....plus it'll be good for a laff....

If you want to toe the assault line, a camera flash strobe is convenient....if used in a fast, coordinated convergance, it'll add one more "Holy Fuck!" factor to the mix...but this is not recommended and unnecessary....

i BELIEVE from memory from my law classes, that you have a civil right to defend your person or property from an attacker, provided you can prove that you had REASONABLE CAUSE to do so, and i guess also if you do not use weapons of um, unreasonable nature.

if youre driving on the street, come up to the lights, and some guy rips open the door and tries to steal the car, you can get out and put up a fight for your car, and im quite sure youre entitled to do so as you are defending your property. same as someone breaking into your house.

so if you guys can use reasonable force to subdue them, but NOT beat them into a bloody pulp, then i think you will be ok.

photographs would be a very good idea so you can prove that they were in fact breaking in. thing is you might want to let them actually break in before attacking because otherwise they might possibly be set free with no charges?? i dunno if thats possible. however i dont know who is going to put his ride up to that abuse.

rememebr to at least immobilize the cars (remove the coil lead or something) so at least the car stays put.

a pack of large zip ties mite help in securing the theives as well...

please check up on the legalities of what i mentioned tho, i dont want to set you guys on the wrong foot

Get together and discuss it privately with a small, trusted group. No use a small mob turning up, if you to get a lot of wiling participants you could split into two or more teams and do different raids...

Keep it simple and easy to execute, Night vision may be cool but a good ol' camcorder and a well-lit area will probably work a bit better...Good idea on the immobilising of the car but be creative....make them able to start the car but have it die quickly (I can think of a couple ways to do that, no doubt people with actual mechanical skill could come up with heaps more). Make sure everybody knows their role and execution, and if you have enough staff and vehicles, station one or two within a kilometre's radius ready to VTEC it right up their arse should they somehow escape...hotdog them until the situation gets hairy and then break off and call it a day....

And no, haven't done it before ,just had many a fantasy of seriously 0wn1ng some of those half-arses who steal cars....and key cars...and disrespect other peoples cars...etc etc....and read too many Tom Clancy novels, play too many strategy games, and think about this way too damn much....

This thing's doable, tho...the main weakness of car thieves is that they have to act alone or in groups of up to 3, or they'll get noticed way too easily...easy to capitalise on that with a proper ambush...we've got to make the car theft business a little more dangerous...

Dude said it was quiet possible there would be another deal next month... An Alarm unfortunatly exspensive as they r.. they say F' off straight away to 99 % of thieve's that F'n M'Guyver's.. and with a bomb stereo ETC it really is a must I think.. and i hate my prolock its annoying every damn time u get in an out.. a little blip blip sound would be much more convenient hehe :wink:
