Downtime around lunch..

Sorry bout that, there was a powercut in Wellington and our Database server took a bit longer to come online compared to our web server...

Blame, um, Vector or who ever broke the power.

Wellington power cut leaves lingering problems
A power failure in Wellington has been fixed but the outage has left internet access problems.

Politicians, judges, retailers, office workers - and Stuff.co.nz users - were affected by the blackout in Wellington this morning.
Transpower spokeswoman Rebecca Wilson said a piece of equipment failed at the Wilton substation, which supplied some of the CBD and Northern suburbs, just before midday.

About 14,000 customers were affected, including the Wellington District Court, parts of Parliament and Lambton Quay retailers. The power was restored after 17 minutes but lingering Internet access problems remained.

Network provider CityLink - used by Stuff.co.nz and many other central Wellington-based businesses - said on its site today: "After a major power problem affecting large parts of Wellington we are experiencing ongoing problems with parts of our network."

Re: Downtime around lunch..

We need a "how to survive in the case of NZHondas server downtime" self-help thread. It seems some people just don't know how to cope ... I had like 5 people on MSN express their worries to me.

I hear that, maybe save a copy of the index page and make it available offline, else save the screen and set as background. At least you can look at it and pretend it's working.
