What does the + mean beside the username

On the home page of the forums right down the bottom I've noticed some people have a + sign next to their name.
Is it because they're members? or something else

i thought it was cause they were you friends?

must be that then because I've only seen it on my added friends, cheers for that

Yes, it is people who are your friends.
