There are several reasons for splitting up the forums like we have. First, it'll stop the need for sellers to continuously bump threads as there won't be as many items posted in the one forum. Secondly, it'll help sellers (and in turn, help buyers) find exactly what they're looking for, quicker. Seperate FS and WTB forums aren't going to stop the massive thread turnover in Parts Exchange. We'll still be using WTB, FS and EOI in those forums, but you'll be able to search a forum based on that easily. IE, I want to search the Wheels forum for every 'WTB' to see if someone is wanting to buy a set of mags I've got. This won't make much sense until you actually see it in action, but it will work quite well.

Location: Hamilton | Sorry if this has been covered or if its already readily available but I think the pm system could do with some more balls. I dunno about the rest of you but I can get a grip of pm's (15+ pages) and it takes ages to sort them, maybe in a perfect world I'd do it each time something came through but it don't happen. The current save box method is good but it would be sweet if the user could create their own folder hierarchy and store pm's in some form of relevance. Or if theres an issue of users creating their own struct's how about some standard default ones like: sold, bought, fuck wits, important for eg. Anyone else think that would be good? I'd maybe volunteer to write that if theres a need... And since I came up re build threads, I guess my opinion on these is different to others, if someone wants a straight log of their build with no BS, why post it on a public board, seems selfish. I like the odd comments here and there and if the spam crew has a big splurge at least it's in one place and not a mass bukkae over the board. As Ian mentioned all images in one post is not the one. The first page of mine is a killer, fair enough mine is a little bigger than most but if I stuck everything in the 1st post it'd be game over. Having the TOC at the top is the key and should be man mandatory, the threads get away on you pretty quick, Adam's up to 11 pages or so & hes got a motor & painted a couple bits... |

Location: Westport | Hayce: I completely whole heartedly agree. The new PM system allows user created folders I think you can also download the PMs in different formats (XML/CSV etc)And again with the build threads, we'll be setting out rules for build threads, having the first post as a "This is what I've got and this is what I intend to do" and then editing with a TOC will be a must.

| Senior Member 8,000rpm (B Series Redline!) | Why not give the thread creator of the build thread the rights to delete/accept comments? that way they can choose what gets on there - someones opinion could be liked by the thread creator but not liked by the mod...

Location: Wellington | or have two forums, one for pics and progress updates, and the other as a discussion (i think some other forums do it like that already? not sure how well it works though) one other thing about PMs, maybe you could let users chose a different email address that the notifications get sent to you can't sign up to nzh using hotmail or gmail etc, so i've signed up with my work email, but i would rather notifications were sent to my hotmail instead |

Location: Hamilton | ^ Email comment is a good idea. Trivium: Heh maybe I'm pessimistic but I can see the potential for a bunch of silly ness with the veto process, like only the "cool" kids getting to post in the "cool" kids threads etc... there others. Good news on the pm system, will be a sweet improvement! |

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | suggestion: in the sponsers section, why not have sub-catergorys divided into companies?? ie. Sponsers forum: - fbi products -speedfactor products -slipstream products -japrace blahblah... so to keep them in order and have a professinal appearance...and not have them advertise prices another suggestion. so if people are keen they can pm them. could this be construde as "time wasting?" being inundated with pm's from jose "no money" curero?? or if sponsers could advertise their products which includes shipping price to all regions?? just throwing ideas out there.. |

Location: Hamilton | That grouping could be good! Not advertising prices would be a PITA for everyone? Pretty hard for sponsors to give that shipping quote, most likely they would go fuck it and put a blanket price which means everyone would pay the maximum... unless of course they have that info to hand in which I case I'll shut up ![]() Not that I'm running your ideas down, just thinking out loud. |

Location: Hamilton | Possible for the search to have an option for topic/thread starters? I know you can search for author but that returns any and all posts made by that person. Like when I want to bump my FS threads I search under my SN in the parts exchange and it returns all my posts in there, would be sweet if it could return just the threads I started in a given forum. No biggie but maybe a useful feature? |
