Search doesn't work

When i search for "race car" i get chucked to this page.

http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/search.php?mode=results

Which is blank.

Note: im not logged in at that time.

Also just tested it a bit more.

When searching for "Honda city turbo" I get this error.

Quote:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 39 bytes) in /var/www/nzhondas.com/phpBB2/search.php on line 387

Well, putting "car" and "Honda" in your searches each call up pretty much every single thread ever posted, so the search result overloads the flux capacitor and Marty gets stuck in 1855.

Try "City turbo" or "city AND turbo".

Search for something more specific. Rather than searching for ANY term, search for ALL terms.

We're using the default memory limit of 8mb on php, if a script goes over that it fails.

I used "race and car" and "honda city turbo" has always worked before. But just letting you know...

Searching for "honda city" in All terms brings back "No topics or posts met your search criteria"

You have problems it seems...

I just searched for Honda City, got: Search found 371 matches
Searched for Honda City Turbo, got: Search found 181 matches

Both selecting "Search for all terms"

It may have worked before, but we've just moved servers and are using proper memory limits rather than massive ones which hinder performance. You'll be getting a blank page because what you're searching for is too vague.

Search for something more specific (the word race and the word car are not specific) and maybe cut down the forums you're searching through (ie, select just General Discussion) and you'll be fine.

KK?

Searching for "Honda city" in only the vehicle exchange section and under "Search for all terms" brings back no results for me.

I just did it, and got this:

Search found 5 matches:

http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/fs-city-t...ght=honda+city
http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/for-sale-...ght=honda+city
http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/fs-honda-...ght=honda+city
http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/fs-79-civ...ght=honda+city
http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/why-you-s...ght=honda+city

You must have spyware.

I did the search as specified and got the same 5 threads as GecKo.

Insert obligatory "list your browser/OS/inside leg measurement" request here.

Can you please do as Matty asked then?

I'm on the same ISP as you at home, I've tried the search on both my work and home PC in Firefox and IE7, have also tried on my Mac in Safari and Firefox.

It's hard to completely trouble shoot when we don't know your system/can't replicate the fault.

I know what its like to trouble shoot stuff.

Tried City and Turbo for "Search for any terms or use query as entered" which brings back results.

I think it was because i was putting the search in the second box (thought it was "Search for all terms"), which i realise now is for author. Maybe that was it, although im sure i put it in the top box and it didn't work.

Oh well it works now anyway, thanks for the help.
