Off topic forum

Ok, some of the stuff that's been posted in OT has been a bit too far, but then I think we also have different ideas of what is acceptable. Maybe some official OT rules are in order, so we all know where we stand?

IMO, you can do whatever you want in there....

BUT, people who do things that others dont expect, or appreciate, or like, will only be making dicks of THEMSELVES.

Treat it like a "party" situation, where you can talk about anything you want... Some things will get squashed, such as masterbation threads, and other blatently stupid things like that.. but generally, the threads will be left alone..

Im not speaking for NZHondas here, this is all my opinion only... Others might decide differently

As I said in a private message to Vent, maybe we could add a new message board, called 'social' or soemthing, where people like Frosty, bex, etc. can just put up whatever thy want (excluding porn, illegal stuff, etc.). It's not unreasonable to think of this club as being a source of social contact for its members, I know it is for me, so rather than trying to stamp it out in the message boards, why not create a place for it?

One thing id like to say, is that these forums have not been provided primarily for social reasons. I get the idea (allowing room for me being wrong) that those people mentioned think they have a right to post in these forums, and a right to talk about anything they want. Believe me, the moderation in these forums is no where near as strict as some others I have posted in. The people mentioned by cubic, should count themselves lucky that there is even an Off-Topic area at all.

I doubt the admins are going to provide any area for a few people to spam in.

The forums here are for honda enthusiasts, and the main focus should be exactly that...

We're not in the business of creating social forums to be used as chatrooms...

Finally, this is by no means a final word, or "HOW IT IS" its merely my own personal thoughts at the time of this post.. you might argue that i have changed my tone since my last post, well, as you learn more, and things change, and things happen, peoples opinions will also change....

If they want to have social gatherings, use the private message feature, we'll let anything go in Off Topic.

I'll post up "Cyclones Rules" for off topic.. follow these and you should be pretty sweet, its up to the individual admins to use their own discession tho.

:arrow: No Personal Attacks (No Racism/sexism/or any other -ism) if they're dumb and just a plain idiot feel free to smack them down though

Yeah basically anything else goes, if you think its going to offend then dont do it..

id just like to say that I AM A HONDA ENTHUSIAST!!!!! i just want to say that some people enjoy chatting to each other even if they are abit porn but its all fun, i would of thought that that is y its called off topic because it isnt all focused solely on honda stuff, im not angry but feel that an off topic should be just that, and off topic Thank you

I just dont see the point in random posts that is basically a conversation...

Thats my personal thoughts on it anyway....any reasons why those programs listed cannot be used??

Porn is not allowed on SNZ, period. If you want to discuss how many times a week you masturbate, I personally dont care, however a topic like that is going to offend someone, and im not at all suprised it was locked(and it wont become unlocked).

Sure we may seem like some hard dictatorship bastards who spoil all your fun sometimes, but really we're just people like you who enjoy a laugh and some fun, in the right place.

If you want to chat to people, you can use the "private message" function, if you want to talk about how to feed your cat, your latest knitting pattern or how to cure your case of the mumps then use off topic. However if you want to discuss/view hardcore sexual porn, there are a plethora of sites out there and this isn't one of them.

Sweet, anything goes, within reason...

But it is not to be used as a 'chat' method. If you wanna just talk to someone in 1 line conversations about basically nothing at all, please use IRC / telephone / ICQ / MSN / Private Messages.

Maybe in an extreme case where these other mediums are not available, then it will be OK to use the off topc forum in this way, but I don't forsee that being too many times.

just like to point out i didnt start a masturbating topic, that was going to far, and i agree after a few pages the topic should be locked, and i understand theres only a certain amount of room to be used but i still think if its off topic its off topic sorry

Frosty's 3sum topic is about as far as things should go, but saying that, it did attract alot of attention from different people, and it wasnt limited to just 2 people replying to each other. So in my opinion, thats OK.

Yep - an excellent feature. It keeps the rest of the site free from the sort of stuff that annoys some people, and it is a great area for social interaction with people with a common interest - especially if you're stuck working until midnight every now and again...
