er Turbos - Honda city motors

Any one played around with the little turbo city motors much?

Am using a city for a round around at the moment and am impressed by the power they have (and low weight)
they even round 12psi factory standard!

any comments?

Jw.

yeah there is a honda city in my little town runnin 20psi, sits in a garage cause owner got caught out with no springs! pretty sure he just boosted it, might have better head/gaskets, man does it fly though (well looks like it does when it hits speed bumps with no return shocks  )

yeh small turbo, same Ihi unit you find in hilux's and such.
The hilux compressor wheel is slightly better aparntly.

a friend of mines just fitted one of these motors into an old skool civic. damn cool

running no exhaust (those turbos go nuts with no backpressure) its was boosting up to 22psi...

was damn quick for a little wagon!

not sure how long it would last, but it wasnt detonating!!

it will be a ER, a 1231 cc CVCC engine
seems like all City has the same engine code and cc rating..
but as i remember Turbo model has magnisium alloy block, not sure about non-turbo 1 tho
yes.. those Turbo 1 were quite good.. remeber a long while ago i had a ride in 1 of this full mod with boost controller & HKS turbo 1... that was amazing.. never thought a 1.3 car with over 10 yr of age (think that was back 1995, that car was a 1983 model)can goes so good , I had a B20A Si CA3 Aerodeck (Accord) back then. The city just goes, prob faster then my 1  that changed my view to them, even in stock it has 100 PS and 15 kg-m on a mere 690kg body.
personally i like the Turbo II better for the body shape and the extra intercoller (for extra 10ps and 1.3 kg-m more at same rev), but it's heavier too( 45kg heavier)..

HAHA, those things are bad!, could you pick up a turbs one for under $500? it would be mean for a thrash/bomb car.

wonder if anyone has ever tried putting a turbo off one of those engines onto a vtec engine!?!??

i picked my city up for $350 from a local guy, passed warrent first pop!
the motor needs some major overhauling, so i picked another car up for $50 to savage for bits
cheap as motoring!!

now have the car rolling on my ex prelude factory alloys... kinda phat looking with 14" mags and low profile tires

The turbos they run overboost majorly the more you remove exhaust backpressure, so big bore exhaust they boost something wicked  real fun! (till 120 odd ks)
Pity the gearbox ratio is crap for fast driving
